Morning all,
Coxy
Forgot to ask earlier!
I see you are reading 'The Four Streets' I have downloaded this to my kindle but thought I might save it for holiday in September. Are you enjoying it?
I am also going to get 'The Book Thief' as recommended by people in the cafe and 'Jambusters' as recommended by the ladies in my WI.
I love a bit of chick lit normally but like something I can get my teeth into for holiday :cool:Cross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44:rudolf:Cross Stitch Is For Life Not Just For Christmas :rudolf:0 -
Hi ladies.
Thanks again for needle minder info though I didn't need to buy any in the end. I was going to make one of my own by buying magnets from the bay (surprised how cheap they are) and attaching something like a little trinket to it to jazz it up.
I did some price research but didn't order straight away as I was thinking about what I could attach.
When stitching later that day I was reminded that the helping hands I use with my frame come with magnets embedded in them. I don't use the magnets how they intend so popped them out from the HH and they work a treat!
They are incredibly strong though when together and don't come apart easily so for the moment I have popped one into a rubber thimble I have just to give me something to hold onto to be able to get them apart without marking/damaging my fabric. They are quite small, probably about 1cm in diameter but as they are so strong they do the job plenty well enough.
I am a collector of sea glass and pebbles so think I will attach one of those from my collection to the front magnet as that will look much nicer than the thimble
Nmm. Nice RF update, look forward to seeing it progress.
Coxy. Sounds like you have had an awful week! Hope you feel better soon.
FOS. Very nice Bee cushion, really like it. Hubby has one of those telescopic magnets in the garage, think it came from a £shop. Hadn't thought to use it when dropping a needle, I usually get on my hands and needles and pat the carpet till I see the needle bounce :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Yes I'm enjoying it, although it's a bit grim and quite graphic in places! It was a cheapy on Kindle downloads so I thought it worth a read. I've recently finished Fractured which was quite gripping too.

Hello everyone. I've been out of action this week and spending my time either confined to bed or on the sofa. Hopefully meds are kicking in but still feel pretty carp
Been quite frustrated really as I've had the time but no inclination to stitch. At this rate the Red Tree will be turning into a Xmas Tree.
Re books - I've read Fractured Coxy and really enjoyed it. The Four Street was the written by the MP Dorries woman? Just read Flight of the Cuckoo which I found quite funny but maybe not everyone's taste. Looked for Book 2 in the series and it is 77p so I've added it to wish list as I am a meanie. Just keep adding loads of free books onto ipod - don't know when I will ever get the time to read them but ....... one day may be.
Great work as usual everyone :T
Take care everyone

Can post a picture of the anniversary piece I made now that the date has passed.
Brian just asked me to incorporate words from their wedding song and their wedding colours of white/wine red. The rest was up to me. They really appreciated the work though and both were were the moon.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I have made the bee piece into a cushion though - using some bee design fabric from my stash. I even found a cushion inner I had saved when I got rid of some old cushion covers I didn't like so this piece hasn't cost me anything :money: (I know the materials cost when I first bought them but that was years ago)To Bee or Not To Bee Cushion by stitchyfeather, on Flickr

Yes I bought it when it was a daily deal. Also bought 'The Physic Garden' as the cover photo is a sampler! I normally just read freebies but sometimes something just catches my eye and I actually spend money on them.Cross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44:rudolf:Cross Stitch Is For Life Not Just For Christmas :rudolf:0
