Have finished page 3 of Elvis :j
Will take a photo at the weekend as the lights bad and I dont want to put the overhead light on yet :money:0 -
Coxy11, I really love the owl coaster and the little girl is looking good too.
I finally finished the gardening piece (will update later when the DD's are out of bed) and have decided to frame it and give it to my Dad for Fathers Day, more his sort of thing than mine.
I have got a Christmas design by Heaven and Earth, just a small free chart, but is says it's 6 x 6 inches on 25 count. I have found a lovely piece of 28ct linen that I would like to stitch it on but how would I use this, would I still use 2 over 2 or maybe 3 over 3 and how big would I need the fabric to be? Never very good at working these things out if I don't have the fabric supplied! Don't like breaking the 'rules' me! :rotfl:0 -

I don't think it will make any difference whether you use 25 or 28 ct - it will just mean that the design will be a little bit smaller and I would still use 2 over 2. I usually allow a couple of inches all the way round for framing so I would be looking at a piece about 10" x 10". See what the others in the Cafe think.
Has anyone received the latest WOCS? I started a new sub and I thought I would have received this issue as I had ordered it in plenty of time. Bet they've taken dd for it.
No more stitching on Red Tree so far.
Have a lovely weekend

Thanks b_e_g0 -
Annie New York is looking great - is the yellow a cab?
Good luck with the gold plated needles and needle grabbers
mrsmp Love the watbo. I didn't know how they were made though I'd seen them on the Cross Stitch Guild site. It's really effective
coxy Patchwork owl looks great in the coaster. I've never had any problems with keeping coasters closed. It does sound as though the recess is too shallow and perhaps only designed for a piece of paper like a photo?
Daisy Girl is lovely. She reminds me of my youngest GD when she puts her hair up. The dress is a beautiful shade of blue
ems Great progress - love the way that photo stitches come to life
pm well done on finishing another page

MOS I agree with beg that changing to 28 count won't make a lot of difference assuming that the design was stitched over 2 and not over 1.
If stitched over 2 on 25 count the design should be 75 stitches by 75 stitches. Converting this to 28 produces a design size of approx 5.4 inches square so a piece of linen around 10 x 10 inches would be ideal.
Here is a handy fabric calculator for cross stitch
Looking forward to seeing the design as it takes shape.
I haven't had much stitching time this week and next week is going to be even worse with lots of work commitments and busy weekends (this and the following week)
