sweetcarer Beautiful work and great progress

mrsceejay I would be furious. Getting the symbols and colours wrong is the most basic of mistakes and makes the whole thing "not fit for purpose" Have you asked for a refund? And please share the name of the manufacturer so that we can avoid purchasing from them in the future

jcs Looks lovely - I love all the detail in the piece. I found this pattern in my stash and immediately thought of you :)

nmm BD looks lovely. The design looks like space invaders to me as well

As I expected no stitching time at the weekend or last night and the rest of the week isn't looking good either. I will have severe withdrawal symptoms by the weekend (and that is going to be busy as well):(

    Hi all

just a quick pop in to say hello. Have been horrendously busy all of May and June doesn't look much better so I guess I will just have to catch up with my stitching in a couple of weeks when I finish work for the holidays. 7 weeks of chilling and catching up on all my hobbies lovely.

I love the different patterns which have been cropping up and am really enjoying seeing all the WIPs and the finished products.

I will hopefully pop in again soon with some finished work!!

That's a lovely kit JCS1, I have Remembrance Fields if you're after a general poppy design, will have a look for you.

Glad you guys like the minions, I modified the design slightly to add the sign, feel free to use it :)

  • mos How frustrating to have to unpick all that work. I feel slightly guilty because I suggested the size of linen needed though in my defence :D I did say that if worked 2 over 2 it would be 75 stitches x 75 stitches and I see from the chart that the design is actually 150 stitches square.

IMHO it will be fine on 28 count stitched over 2 - you will need a piece approx 17 inches square. Stitching over 2 on 25 count might need 3 strands of cotton?

It's a lovely design and will look stunning when finished.

I use a magnifier all the time when stitching and I'm not keen on working over 1 thread on linen

Fos - please don't feel guilty at all, your information was fab as I had no idea what to do at all so you gave me somewhere to start.

I have restarted the piece several times now, not sure what the issue was with starting in the middle but I just couldn't get it right so decided to count it all out and start at the top! It seems to have worked this time! :rotfl:

Does anyone here have a caravan or go on caravan holidays? The reason I ask is I love to do cross stitching when I am away but I find the lack of light a problem and I really don't have space to take my crafting lamp and wondered if anyone had managed to find a good source of light that is easy to transport?
