Love all the updates ladies, Elvis is looking amazing!
I started on the H&E design only to find the piece of linen wasn't big enough and having spent about 6 hours working on it, I was a little bit cross :j. So I unpicked it all (can't bear to waste good fabric) and have found a larger piece of linen in a cream colour to use so going to start that today. It's this design and I am sure it will look lovely (free pattern as well) :j

Nice design, HAED sizes are usually quoted for 1 over 1, maybe this is why it seemed the wrong size? Anyhow glad you found a piece of fabric big enoughCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0 -

Yes it says in the instructions to use 18 or 25 count and stitch over one thread.Cross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44:rudolf:Cross Stitch Is For Life Not Just For Christmas :rudolf:0 -

Latest BD update managed to do a big chunk as it was the same colour, not long to go now maybe a week at very most 2.

NMM BD is looking fantastic, so close to the finishing line
. I think your Neice's birthday card design is Atari space invaders (OK, starting to show my age now!) :rotfl:
I tried the 1 over 1 last night and I have to say....it was awful, far too small, thread to thick, didn't like it at all so have decided to do 2 over 2 on my larger piece of thread. I would need to work through a magnifying glass to stitch it up like that! How does anyone cope with 1 over 1 when working on HAED designs?0 -
morning all
love everyones photos - Elvis, BD, the beautiful band and stitch booklet, the farming scene, the little girl and rabbit stitched set. all are gorgeous!
i agree i think the card looks like space invaders as well. the aliens off toys story also came to mind but i think they were yellowSPC~12 ot 124

mos How frustrating to have to unpick all that work. I feel slightly guilty because I suggested the size of linen needed though in my defenceI did say that if worked 2 over 2 it would be 75 stitches x 75 stitches and I see from the chart that the design is actually 150 stitches square.
IMHO it will be fine on 28 count stitched over 2 - you will need a piece approx 17 inches square. Stitching over 2 on 25 count might need 3 strands of cotton?
It's a lovely design and will look stunning when finished.
I use a magnifier all the time when stitching and I'm not keen on working over 1 thread on linen0
