MOS, I totally agree with your comment on stepping back to see it, when stitching all I see is pinks, greens, greys, etc it looks so much better in the photos. I can't wait to have it up on the wall
Lovely update on your garden stitch.
Beg, red tree is coming along great.
Annie, nice update on new York, re your needles have you tried gold plated ones? They are only cheap on ebay like £1 for 10, the gold comes off eventually but who cares at that priceI bought this mix & match set clicky maybe better deals but I was too lazy to look :rotfl:

I don't know if they are better grip but they may react to your skin differently, I know a few people on here recommend them.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0

red tree and new york both look lovely, excellent progress
put the watbo together last night
I'm intrigued by your watbo. Have I missed something?moments_of_sanity wrote: »Loving all the updates,
FOS I absolutely love the daffodil piece you are making into a cushion and love bumble bees so can't wait to see more of that one
NMM isn't it lovely to finally be on the last page! Really looking forward to seeing BD when you have finished it. Do you find they look better when you stand back from it? With HN, I didn't really notice it taking shape and it was only when I got up and walked away that I noticed how good it was looking.
I decided to start an Anne Lane Xstitch piece that my Dad bought me in 2010, I am not overly keen on it but it is coming together quite quickly, here is an update

I love gold plated needles. They just feel different in your hand but it doesn't stop me from dropping them down the side of the sofa. Cheap enough to give them a go.
Great progress on New York Annie

it was a little scissor keeper kit that i bought for 50p at a carboot called a cherry pie watbo
basically its 3 identical squares stitched in a row then you sew it together and it forms a 3D shape.

Morning!
Annie021063 - love the NY design, nice to see a splash of colour :-)
beg - Red Tree is coming along great. The hearts look lovely.
mos - The Anne Lane design is nice. Reminds me of the one my Mum gave me for my birthday. Not sure I could stitch something I wasn't keen on though, so all credit to you!
mrs-mp - the watbo is lovely, great to find it at a car boot - bargain!
I finished the owl freebie kit. Decided against the French knots and some of the back stitch as a) I hate French knots, and b) the backstitch on the body is barely visible in the photo. Took ages to mount it into the coaster blank. I cut a square piece of paper to back it with and the darn thing won't stay closed. Not sure if the coasters I bought are particularly shallow. Would be interested to hear how others get theirs to stay closed.
Worked on Daisy Girl last night. Update pics to follow in next post.
Have a good day all.
