Morning Girls
Stitched a bit of Red Tree last night and just didn't feel the love for it. Perhaps I was just a bit tired. Ran out of one of the colours - got tons of every other one but I have the DMC equivalents so not the end of the world.
Lovely to see you Lou :hello:
Love Garden Medley Coxy :T
Bye for now

Does everyone prefer stitching aida or evenweave? I've only ever used aida but fallen in love with a picture on evenweave and would love to try it but a bit nervous - fear of the unknown I guess!
I was originally scared of evenweave but I love it now Debrak. Try it on something small first. Dont forget we love pics in the Cafe

Everyone has been so busy. I've hardly had any stitchy time the last couple of weeks cos of my Ozzy visitors, but they're going home tomorrow
DH is in Brussels on business for a couple of days but back tomorrow night. Friday evening will be a frenzy of laundry and general pottering leaving the weekend free for cross stitch
Dh working 6-2 on BH Monday so will get up when he goes to work so I can get a full eight hour session in!
I am on page 3 of 4 of my 'Tete a tete' kit which I'm really enjoying. Will post an update after the weekend.
Having my (hopefully) last op in two weeks time but should only be off work for about ten days this time, not ten weeks so hoping to finish it in that time. I love sitting at home getting paid to cross stitch :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44:rudolf:Cross Stitch Is For Life Not Just For Christmas :rudolf:0 -

I much prefer evenweave with linen being my favourite evenweave fabric. I love the feel of it as I am stitching and the look of it when it is finished. But it does take a big longer to stitch so if I'm doing a project which covers the whole (or almost all) of the fabric I would probably still use aida.
This link has some good tips including starting next to a vertical thread (which needs a diagram)
A magnifier and great lighting help old eyes like mine when stitching on evenweave.
Try it on a small project and if you don't like it you haven't lost much in either time or materials0 -
jcs Love your framed pieces. I remember loving the lady with roses when you were stitching it and it looks even better framed.
Great progress on your current piece.
Your calves are adorable. One of the fields I pass on my commute to work has lots of calves at the moment. Don't they grow quickly?
The quote made me laugh
sweetcarer Beautiful work as always. Your book of stitches is really doing well.
Over the last few weekends I have been sorting through my stash and one of the pieces I found was a learning type sampler of stitches which must be about 15 years old  It was originally a monthly SAL to which I subscribed. After a few months the designer decided not to continue but sent me all the remaining parts. Problem is I found the partially stitched piece but not the instructions. Oh well will have to carry on sorting (not exactly a chore)
Louise Lovely to "see" you in the cafe Hope you are OK and that your stitchy bug returns
coxy Beautiful finish0 -
Tricksie Hope all goes according to plan
I managed to get some stitching done at the weekend while enjoying the wonderful sunshineimage by stitchyfeather, on Flickr
As well as the above I also started on another piece - I found this chart in my stash together with a piece of "honeycomb" design evenweave. The chart uses DMC (which I already have and best of all I am using up left over lengths from previous projects :money:) plus 2 shades of hand dyed thread (green and pink) - for these I am using threads I already have, not the ones called for.

and this is what I stitched at the weekend (have done a bit more since)image by stitchyfeather, on Flickr
Am looking forward to another long weekend where I should be able to find some quality stitching hours - hope everyone else does too.0 -

Went to ikea this morning with DS2 as his school is shut for polling. Wanted to get DD her wardrobe but the packs were too heavy to liftDid pick up a £4 frame for the stockings though so not a completely wasted journey :rotfl:
