    Hey everyone

Sorry haven't been around for a while.

I've been seconded to a special project at work which has a specific deadline of 31 March so have been working long hours and weekends.

Going to work at 6.30am, get home at 7.30pm and in bed by 9.30pm so no time whatsoever for stitching :(

As I've not stitched for 8 weeks Elvis will definately not be ready for mothers day or mums birthday in April so it's going to be a xmas present.

Hopefully once we get into April my workload will calm down and go back to normal hours, I am so desperate to pick up my needle again :)

Well time I got off to sleep again, take care and enjoy your weekend x

    Good Morning Everyone

    Long post warning!

Welcome to a wee sunny morning up here - makes a change - so taking advantage of it and putting the washing outside - makes such a difference, house doesn't look like a chinese laundry.

Ok done some more on my wee stitch book - 4 more pages last night - so here they are

    Upright Cross Stitch

    Smyrna Cross Stitch

    Rice Stitch

    Diamond Eyelet Stitch
    100_1217_zpsc29cec52.jpg

Didn't think the diamond eyelet was all going to fit - been doing them all free hand - just looking at the instructions I have for the learning sampler. Think I will leave the grid lines in - think it helps.

Hubby wonders why I am doing the book. Wish he was awake - but he don't sleep well at night, so only went to bed about 7am, I would of loved to of gone out for the day - a wee nice drive somewhere - ah well, such as life.

    Keep well everyone

These are fabulous. Doesn't the print of the notebook set off your stitched dragonfly well. Sure to be appreciated

    Hi everyone,

fos - the coasters look great - reminds me that I bought 10 square coasters from ebay and haven't done anything with them yet..... Love the wedding sampler.

Ailsb - the framed pieces are great, would love to see your other previous makes.

JCS1 - sorry to hear about your cat and that you've been feeling down. The Blackwork Angel is amazing and I love the little cat design you're doing next. Hope things improve for you.

    nmm - BD looking great.

mrs m-p - sorry to hear about your DHs friend ((hugs))

Mrs_T_M - sorry I don't have that issue of Cross Stitcher.

Ayeshalush - love the cut thru stable, and a good price too!

Maisie M - nice mothers day card and I have that notebook somewhere. Dragonflies are my 'thing' so I must get to it sometime!

fos/Caroline1973 - thank you for the subscription offers. I have taken up another 5 for £5 Cross Stitch Crazy :D

Well I had my interview this afternoon at Hobbycraft. There were 10 of us, and we were split into two groups. One group had to go onto the shopfloor and tidy an area and approach customers to offer help, whilst the other group had to make up a kit for a mothers day craft that children could do. We made a photoframe from some foam sheets and embellished it with glittery stickers and pipe cleaners. Then we swopped around. At 3pm there were no customers in the store so the interviewer got other members of staff to approach us pretending to be customers. I was asked for a gift for a 4 year old boy who likes colouring, so I picked up a kit with masks that you colour in and got barked at for picking that rather than aqua doodle etc. Made me and the staff member feel really uncomfortable. Then we each had a 1-1 with an area manager who has been sent to 'sort out the store' so I figure that the staff there might be feeling a bit picked on. Noticed lots of empty cartons on shelves which hadn't been replenished (I worked for Boots over Christmas and there's no way that would've happened). Anyway I will hear by email by Wednesday latest but tbh I'm not sure I'm that bothered!

Sorry to hijack the thread :o

Hoping to do some more of the stockings this evening.
    Coxy

Thanks for sharing about the interview. Not. I ding one way or the other is a great place to be when waiting to hear

beg - the vase of flowers is lovely. I really like how the glass stands out already. the Book Thief is a brilliant book. I really liked the film too but did get frustrated that certain bits were out of sync with the book but hey that happens most of the time and for me didn't detract too much from enjoying it.

Horrendous night last night as both DS1 and OH had a bug so there was copious running to the loo between them. DS2 had it on Wednesday night so I am just waiting for my turn:( Don't think I have ever used so much bleach, disinfectant and wipes in three days. The bathroom is absolutely spotless lol.

DH is going to start The Book Thief so hope he enjoys it as much as we did.

Hope all the family are over the sickness bug.

JCS1 - good to hear kitten is doing well, he's gorgeous.

b_e_g - beautiful stitching for your mum, I'm sure she'll love it. The colours are lovely.

mrs-moneypenny - book sounds interesting, will have to look it up, always on the look out foe a good read:D. Your tiger cub cushion is fab and tulips are looking great.

b_e_g - I could have sworn I'd read The Book Thief but now I'm not sure, will need to read again, just in case (and before I see the film).

Maisie M - hope your family are all feeling better and you haven't succumbed to the bug.

Sweetcarer - your stitches booklet is a great idea and looks fab!

Mrs ceejay - looking forward to seeing your peacock progress :D

    Ruth_hiney - you're famous lol :D.

pm2326 - poor you, that's not giving you much time to yourself. I'm sure your mum will love Elvis whenever she receives it. Not too long until April now.

    Morning all,

    Just a quickie from me.

beg - vase of flowers is looking great already, it's a lovely design

    Maria - nice card

Mrs mp - love the tiger cub cushion. The tulips are looking good

Sweetcarer - the book of stitches is a lovely idea. You've made good progress already. How many different stitches will there be?

JCS1 - cute kitty! Hope he's on the mend

Pm2326 - sorry to hear work is so busy. At least the end is in sight. Maybe Elvis can be for Christmas

Ayeshalush - the sampler is lovely. I still need to source a silver anniversary one, but don't want to use metallic thread - too much hassle, although the effects are lovely.

A little stitching done this weekend. Mainly though we were in the garden. I missed a phone call from hobbycraft yesterday so will call them today, I will be declining whatever the outcome. Will feedback regarding the manager who was rude to me. Their loss :D

Off to see the nurse for my 3 yearly 'ladies' appointment this morning. Dreading it but needs must etc. At least it's first thing so won't have to stress about it all day

    Have a good day all.
