Coxy11 - hope everything went ok with appointment, a necessary evil unfortunately, mine is due soon. Sorry that the Hobbycraft job didn't work out for you.
mrs-moneypenny - you stitched the tulips really fast! They are lovely and bright and just right for this time of year.
kezbabybabe - your tea xstitch is looking fab!
b_e_g - I've just read the blurb for The Book Thief again and I definitely haven't read it, though I was sure I had. Strange! Maybe I just intended to ! Have now downloaded it to my Kindle. Currently reading The Kingmaker's Daughter by Philippa Gregory. I really enjoy her books and find them a good way of 'lodging' historical events in my brain lol (although I know not everything in her books is factually correct). Love your new project!!
nmm - getting there!! I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished article.
Ruth-honey - had a wee look at Black Sheep Wools but managed to resist, I have enough to keep me going for the next 5 years at my current rate of stitching lol.
fos - perfect sentiment lol!
maria and the imps - bird is so cute
I haven't managed any more stitching this week, hoping to get my GW sampler finished this weekend.
Does anyone use the thread parking method of stitching? Looks interesting but haven't tried it myself. Should probably read up a bit more on it and see if it is more useful in certain circumstances.
Hope the week is going ok for everyone.
Take care.

i think everyone should read the book thief, it sounds like you have similar tastes in books to me. Philippa Gregory is the reason i discovered reading for pleasure as an adult. I bought mil a copy of the other boleyn girl for her birthday but decided to read it first as she is rather prim and didnt want to give her something that caused offence. That was the beginning for me i dont think id read for the sheer pleasure of it before and certainly not since leaving school. Now i have to have a book or books nearby and often loose days with them. ive read a lot of philippas books and not yet found one i disliked. they seem to make history come alive and help you make sense of it.
I do love books that go back in time at the mo im reading kate moreton's the distant hours and its totally absorbed me.
time for a cuppa and another couple of chapters before DS2 gets home from school i thinkSPC~12 ot 124

still off topic (lol)
mrs-moneypenny - The Other Boleyn Girl was the first one that I read too and was hooked. It was the first book in a long time that I just couldn't put down! I had never liked historical fiction before reading this. Completely agree with you, they do make history come alive. I've also now got 2 friends hooked on her books too.

Good evening everyone. Hope your all keeping well. I have been absent from here for ages. Had loads going on including moving to a house that needed a lot of work found, and still does. Not much stitching done over the last few months, time to get back to it. Hope it's ok to join you all again.
