SmallL - Welcome to the Cafe. We are a friendly group who are also very nosey and love to see update photos and lots of them. We try to keep each other motivated and it can also be motivational to post an update photo on here weekly so we can all see the progress (or if you are like me during the warm weather - the lack of progress).
Having said update photo it's been a while since I posted my update. Here is where I was up to when I last posted a photo
As at start of Monday 25.6 by Ailsb1, on Flickr
and here it is as at yesterday.

The dark blue tree trunk is down to the bottom of the end of the first part of the design. Still don't know whether to do this as three separate pieces or one large one.
Just to let you know that my Dad's 80th birthday party went off really well and he had a lovely day. It was a total surprise he didn't twig anything until about 5 minutes before people started to arrive when he counted the seats in the garden and realised there were far more of them than us.
I'm off on holiday on Sunday so have been browsing Pinterest for a simple pattern to take with me. Yet again my son is being spoilt as he's chosen a pattern for a salamander in the same style as the turtle - I must be mad as I hated doing that one. Here's the link to it, it's free from a French designer. http://pinterest.com/pin/540643130237729661/ I thought a simple design was best to take with me but it is a bit big so may change my mind before we go.
Have a good evening everyone.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Evening all,
Just having a bit of a catch up with you all.
fos - I didn't realise you could get trays that were suitable for displaying cross stitch. However, I think I will stick with a cushion this time as those particular one are a bit over budget atm. But I have learned something new - thanks. x
Mrs. MP - sounds as though you have had a wonderful time and got some lovely pressies. You do realise that you will have more stitchy time now that the garden has been done.
Maisie - go girl - looking forward to seeing your next update of Wine. Once I got so far with it I decided I wasn't going to let it get the better of me. Sounds as though you are getting organised with your christmas cards. Don't know how many I will get done this year as I am going to finish Margaret Sherry's 12 Days of Christmas in time for the festive season.
43teabags - well done on finding the missing threads. Come on now, no excuses. Looking forward to seeing your piccy.
SmallL Welcome to the [STRIKE]madhouse[/STRIKE] Cafe. We are a friendly bunch here and we love to see lots and lots of pics. By popping into the Cafe quite often seems to keep us motivated but there are times when things get in the road of our stitching (disgraceful) or we just hit a block with whatever we are stitching. I sometimes find having a little break and stitching a little cover kit and then going back to the original piece sometimes works for me. You must be really busy with all your other craftwork.
Ailsb - great progress with the tree. I have been wondering about doing an abstract tree for the lounge. I am sure the seller where I bought Sleeping Beauty had some but I don't want to look yet as I need to make up the Wine cushion and finnish off 12 Days too. Have a lovely hol and good luck with salamander.
JCS1 - Rosa is beautiful. Backstitch and beads with just make her complete.
Been stitching free poppy card (approx stitching time 8 hrs so it says) - I must have been way over that so far and still not finished. Stitching time must be based on 'Louise speed'. It is quite pretty and will come in handy when you need a card unexpectedly. I have a couple of 60 birthdays coming up soon and I think I will just do the age cards I have done in the past - just need to sort the patterns out now.
Hope you are all well

Out of interest, if you phone to make a routine doctor's appointment, how long do you have to wait for an appointment? I'm a bit annoyed because I phoned to book an appointment for my OH and it will be 2 weeks before he can be seen unless we phone same day and ask for an emergency appointment (which it isn't). How can this be right? Why can't they offer a system whereby if it isn't an emergency and it isn't a routine check up appointment, you get seen within 3 working days?
We used to have at least a two week wait, it was such a terrible system. When my dad fell ill he waited for an appointment, then he waited for a referral, then for treatment etc, it ended up being two months after he first went before they finally started his chemo.
I haven't been to the doctors for a couple of years but apparently they have recently changed the system. Now you phone up in the morning and a doctor will call you back and do a phone consultation. If they can sort things easily, they will give advice and leave a prescription at reception. If it is more complicated or you need checked over they will give you an appointment for that afternoon or the next day to speak in person. It seems to work better.
On the stitching front......Circle required too much concentration and it's been too hot so she is back in the cupboard. I started on a nursery rhymes baby block for a friend and have got three squares done so far.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
