Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. DD left primary school this week, so lots of farewell discos, tears etc. Also hosted a BBQ at home for 20 church folk, so all in all very chaotic!
I was bitten on my ankle whilst in the garden and my foot/ankle are twice the size! I have antibiotics so just waiting for them to kick in now, and have to elevate my foot. So painful, would almost rather give birth again - seriously!!
We are having a takeaway tonight, then I'm hoping (as I need to rest) that I can get the French flower shop out and give it some more attention. Will update pic over the weekend.
Rosa is gorgeous JCS1
Cute teddy nmm
Have a great holiday Ailsb!
Have a good evening everyone

Have a great weekend x0 -
Hello everyone
Hope everyone is well - I am ok - just really hot - this weather doesn't agree with me. So going to stay in and do some stitching until later I will go shopping when its cooler and the shops are a bit quieter.
I have been working away on my first one of the birth samplers - got one problem I have done it in DMC 3838 which is a lovely shade but its for a girl, I am going to continue on and I am not close to the mother - just a girl from work I know and I have thought of an excuse if she says but its blue - I will say "I remember the babys name was Alex and when I went to do the lettering I noticed it was a girl".
Here is a photo of the completed bear - awaiting writing to be done - might do that do today - where did I put my graph paper.
Kind wishes to all

have been trying to keep up but spent most of the last week+ trying to sell my "to be sold" pile. endless listing, amending and re-listing.
DS1/2 are now prepared to part with all their take along/ take and play thomas so I have around £600 of toys listed on ebay (eeek at fees), managed to sell £100 worth of them last week so that'll pay for a tablet (he's been using my old phone to watch youtube videos etc but it's finally died a death.
brill just ordered a 7" tablet + case with built in keyboard + pk of 10 stylus - used a £10 voucher courtesy of shop n scan for less then £40 delivered
welcome SmallL and coxy11 and ems, glad others have been on hand for tea and cake duties.
another lovely teddy sweetcarer - they look sooo easy but I know how tricky it is to count it correctly when it's like that.
perhaps they are a conservative blue for any sex couple.as if they would dare to say anything.
JCS - Rosa looks stunning.
coxy - there must be some horrible bity things doing the rounds. A colleague called in work last week to say he'd been to the dr with an insect bite, got sent to A&E and ended up having to stay overnight on an intravenous drip.
have a good holiday Ailsb.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
JCS - Rosa is lovely. What are your plans for her?
Have decided to take a piece of aida and the salamander chart, probably wont get much done but if I make a start it's better than nothing. Off at 9am in the morning. All packing is done just need to have a shower and do my hair. Then need to smuggle my straighteners into a case - hubby says not to bother taking them!
Arrgh - lost part of my post again.
Sweetcarer - yourbear is cute. Looks like this design should be your trademark.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Good morning everyone
Just getting used to the cooler temperature after lots of rain overnight. Should making cooking the Sunday roast for today's visitors easier
Been reading but not posting as life very hectic so apologies if I miss anyone
jcs. Rosa is stunning. She will look wonderful framed. You seemed to complete really quickly
maisie. Card is really cute. Card really sets off the stitching
sweetcarer. Love your latest teddy birth sampler. If you are concerned about the blue perhaps you can find a pink frame or mount? I bought a lovely pale pink photo frame from poundstretcher about a year ago. Or you could add pink ribbon as a border?
Welcome to the newbies. Always nice to have some new members especially if they post photos
ailsb. Have a great holiday. Love the update. If you intend to have it framed 3 separate frames will cost more than 1 big one (on a like fr lie !!! sing the same moulding) but the finished piece will be heavy so need hanging properly. But it all depends where you want to display it.
chicky. I've also been doing lots of listing and you're right. It takes ages. But you've achieved great results :money:
I did a age to finish the xs on my ring pillow last weekend but it still needs to be made into a cushion. I bought some fabric and I can't find where I've tidied it away to One of the disadvantages of having a good sort out is that things aren't where they used to be
mrsmp. Great progress on Titanic
Have a great Sunday everyone0 -
Good Morning
On briefly - then onto some stitching in the cool of the day.chickywiggle wrote: »another lovely teddy sweetcarer - they look sooo easy but I know how tricky it is to count it correctly when it's like that.

I doubt they will say anything - of the 4 stitches I have done for girls at work (I am the only girl in my department), I am not particularly close to any of the mothers. Also out of them I have had one verbal thanks, one handwritten thanks and the other two - nothing. This is when it is disheartening but I still do them.flowerofscotland wrote: »sweetcarer. I am concerned but not concerned, as I said I am not "close" to the mother who is a work colleague - I just do them as I like to do them - guess I have started a wee tradition when I got transferred to my new establishment and any time someone has a baby or gets married.
Well off to finish it and then do a pink one for another ex-work-colleague that I see from time to time - she has cancer (in remission now) and has just had her first grand child. Will do the same pattern as it only took about a week to do.
Also, going to get hubby (so much better than me at photography) to take photos of my Sandy Hook hearts - planning to post them this week hopefully - get paid on Wednesday. I washed them all last night and will iron them later today - need to be in the mood for ironing lol.
Keep well everyone.
