added more to my stash this morning well it was rude not to. someone was selling cross stitch mags 10p each and kits 20p. i got 11 mags some still have cover kits on and one has a gorguss chart in, 2 newtons law kits, bent creek happy christmas row kit, two linda myers charts - 'log cabin quilts' and 'windmills and wild flowers' and mirabellas 'petal fairy' chart. the lot for £2.
also bought a kit of two young women on cycles from someone else for £1.50 thats a lanarte one, lady said it was a gift but she couldnt do it as one of the womens skirts has hitched up on her saddle and shes showing too much leg! LOL its saucy in an innocent way, i cant say it would cause offence.

i am supposed to be working through my stash not adding to it but really colndt resist these bargains.
at this rate ill be hoping to hang on to my eyesight and faculties till im about 120 years old!!!

hope all are well and stayed dry last night rain was terrible

My Mum has claimed Rosa, so that's main Christmas present sorted.

Stitching mojo was back, she took 6 weeks.

On to my next one now, something a bit different, Dancing Tulips by Derwentwater Designs.

  • I've finished the Gorjuss cross stitch - it's a little different from the pattern for a couple of reasons. First is that i absolutely hate the glitter thread with a passion, tried it and it kept knotting so eventually i gave up, meaning that half the hat is not glittery. It works though. The other difference is the back stitch, i didn't do it exactly to the pattern, and i didn't do the french knots. Still haven't mastered those yet and i felt it was alright without them.

Ems cant remember what its called at the mo, but i hated glittery threads and got in a mess till some on here mentioned a product you rub your threads through its like stitching with normal thread and stops them snagging tangling and scratching. its called something magic i think.
someone will post with the name in a bit or ill go and look in my stash cupboard.

cant wait to see your photo of finished gorjuss. bet your friend will be delighted.

I will post photos as soon as i figure out how to do it!

I have had a busy weekend so I suppose I can't really grumble that Sunday evening is approaching although I anticipate it will be another busy week at work and I'm not if I'm being honest.... looking forward to it.....

Anyhow, I decided (finally got round to) sorting my kitchen cupboards so now I have more cupboard space for my (food) tins & jars and less space for my pans but things are more organised. I'm just wondering how long it will be before I stop opening the cupboard for a tin of beans and finding the frying pans instead?!

sadly no cross stitch managed this weekend. boo.
