    As for me.....

No stitching last week at all. Hurt my back and couldn't get comfy when sitting so I left it rather than mess it up.
Should get back to it later this afternoon :)
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

I received both Cross Stitcher and Cross Stitch Card shop this week - was quite impressed with Cross Stitcher - not so sure about Cross Stitch Card Shop. Wasn't too keen on the free kit but having seen the finished piece, it does look cute.

I'm sorted four bags of clothes for recycling today - so that's cleared some space and I've started to go through the mags and have put for recycling all non stitchy mags - old puzzle mags / cooking mags etc.

meanwhile, if you subscribe to world of cross stitching and have issue 210 (the one with tatty ted holding a big christmas parcel in his hands) can you remind me what the free kit was? I remember eagerly anticipating this mag as I recall the free kit was cute and that the mag also had a cute cat design in it by peter underhill but I can't seem to find this issue anywhere and its bugging me now why I liked it so much !!
Well done on the sorting out. That's what I call a spring clean :D

I also wasn't impressed by Card Shop. There was only 1 design I would stitch which was one of the butterflies. But as I'm on a 3 for £3 deal I don't mind
I loved the free gift with Cross Stitcher and liked some of the designs but nothing has made it to the Must Stitch list There were more I really liked the previous month and a couple I am looking forward to next month

Lamb card completed, will be ideal for mothers day at the end of this month (we have about 20 lambs at the moment). Didn't stitch the bird on it's back though - the designer mustn't be aware that some large birds peck the eyes of new born lambs.

    Back to the blackwork angel..........

    Looks really cute

Your black work angel is stunning. I know metallics aren't easy and take longer but it's worth persevering on such a lovely. Piece. It will look stunning

    Hello girls,

Sorry I have been missing in action but I do lurk and admire all that you are doing - don't mean to be so "off" with people.

That is pretty - when I done the journal cover - I thought of putting in an A5 binder with a plastic front - like a presentation binder - have ordered one from Eb@y so see when it arrives if it will work. I learned how to type on a typewriter - its a dying art now to do touch typing.

That is stunning - I do have a soft spot for alphabets and samplers.

So here is my latest work finished - a wee baby sampler for one of the girls at work.

    Baby stitch.
    109_1204_zps3061e4b1.jpg

Wishing wages day will come so I can order the material and threads for Mums memory stitch - the designer recommends Au Ver a Soie but the cheapest I can find are £2.75 each and I need 18 - so I think I will be sticking with DMC - 40p each. Should look just as good with DMC I am sure. I will put some text at bottom in gold thread - but what is a good metallic to use - I have never really used any - so what do you recommend - DMC, Kreink, Maderia, etc?

Off to do a bit more on the learning sampler -I am a wee bit behind, only on part 6 (meant to be complete in February).

    Keep well everyone.

    sweetcarer ;)

Thanks for popping in and you certainly don't come across as "off". We know you have a lot to deal with

Lovely baby sampler I really like the design. No wonder you use it a lot

I'm not going to use silk for the Twisted Band Sampler as I think DMC. will work just as well

I don't think any metallics are easy to use. Thread Heaven helps. Kreinik braid#4 is probably the easiest to use IMHO

Hate autocorrect on the Kindle, keep having to edit threads when I realise it has changed someone's name without me realising :o

    Example of corrections:

    DO A - FOS
    Sweetwater - Sweetcarer
    Australian - Ayeshalush
    HIS1 - JCS1
    Conclusively - Chickywiggle
    Mean - Mrsm :o
    Trickier - tricksie

Most of these made me laugh but not mine:eek:

I know what you mean about he appointments but they are a necessary evil to help with diagnosis
  • shelly. Hope your back is better and you can stitch again. I'm sure you were right not to stitch while in pain as you would probably have to unpick it now

mrsmp. Great progress with the tulips and so appropriate for this lovely Spring weather we are enjoying

ems. Beautiful work on the Vintage piece. Love the colours

sweetcarer. I also learned to touch type on a manual typewriter when I first started work after graduating. One do the best skills I ever learned Another reason for me to stitch that cover kit :)
