I started it when I vanished from MSEThis was my first ever time playing with putting a rafflecopter on, hope it's as easy checking the entries at the end - was a very scary step.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
I am so cruel and heartless - my little lamb stitching has ended up in the bin.
. I had obviously dropped a clanger somewhere on it, couldn't find it but knew things weren't right, tried to unpick and the threads were so carp that they just shreaded. I ended up throwing it across the room and DH said that if it was stressing me that much - get rid of it - so I did.
Will have to sort something out now that is going to relax me I think.
Quick look on blog chicky and it looks brilliant. Good luck with it and I will try and have a proper read over the weekend.

awww poor lamb, but I think i would have done the same.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
I'm amazed and impressed as usual with everyone's work, but special mention goes to Emily for the stunning Dolly Mama and frame - a perfect match.
Well, I've finished my poppies and think I'm happy with it apart from a couple of rows at the very top that are outside the back stitching on the petals. I've done them according to the chart but it just looks I've made a mistake. I can't unpick it without making a mess of the petal. It might not look so bad when framed if I get a mount that goes right to the top IYSWIM.

I'm doing this next, it matches one I've already stitched:

Have a great weekend everyone - I'm making a start on sorting the garage. What is it with garages that they get so messy and full of junk so quickly, where does it come from ? Poor old car is relegated to the drive.0 -
I might have posted this already (maybe another thread), but this is what I have to contend with when I'm stitching and watching the telly !. My Eric:

Afternoon,
Subscription copy of CrossStitcher arrived last night, cover kit is a note booklet, didn't take long to complete:
The pages I need to glue inside are slightly bigger than the cover, so will need to trim first. I'm also wondering if to use clear plastic book cover on the outside to make it last a big longer?
I love this and think it is a grata free gift as I still use notebooks for stitchy notes, lists and ideas
Your idea of covering it with clear plastic is a good one
Haven't looked at the magazine yet0 -

Emily926- your frame is just perfect for Dolly Mama and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your sampler.
b_e_g- hopefully won't be long until I finish Golden Wedding sampler. I'm not looking forward to attaching the lace or the beads as I've never done that sort of thing before. Just hope I don't make a mess of it. Instructions are very good though. She does have a few other designs for sale in her ebay shop that aren't wedding anniversaries.
shirlls- hi and welcome to the cafe. I am pretty new to cross stitching myself but everyone on this thread has been very kind and helpful. I am not very good at posting but always read the thread and love seeing pictures if everyone's work as it is so inspiring.
JCS1- nice gift with Cross stitcher. Plastic cover sounds like a good idea. When all the pages of your notebook have been used, you could remove them and reuse the cover to make a new one, so it's a good idea to try and protect it.
I haven't done much stitching at all since I last posted before Xmas. I started the small cat design from the free diary with WOXS, brought Sleeping Beauty back out, put it on snap frame and had another go and found it much better working on the frame (silly question alert! - what do you do with the excess aida at the edges, so it doesn't get in your way?) and started the Golden Wedding sampler which is coming on well and motivating me to stitch more. Just need to find some extra hours in the day lol. Will try and take some pics at weekend, although not enough of SB done to make it worth showing yet.

Xx
When you find the extra hours in the day please send some my way
I pin the excess fabric out of the way. I use curved safety pins which I use for quilting but ordinary safety pins do the job0 -

Don't suppose you do want to try again but if you really like the design you are welcome to my kit. I won't stitch it0 -
