hey peeps - quick question - did anyone else get the Hobbycraft VIP email giving them 15% off tomorrow? did your images show up? I can't view mine at all the the 'view in web page' link doesn't work. I tried tweeting them but they don't reply.

I'm not a cross stitch cafe member but I love reading the thread.

I got the email, hope this link works

The link worked for me although I won't use it as I do not need anything :money:

Are you a cross stitcher? We are, as you will have gathered, a nosy bunch and love hearing (or better still seeing) what everyone is working on

I knit and sew but I'm fairly new to stitching.

I love seeing what everyone else is doing but I don't know when I'll be able to post any photos of my current xs project as I don't have a computer at home, (I tend to read the thread at work whilst waiting for computer to update).

    Afternoon,

Subscription copy of CrossStitcher arrived last night, cover kit is a note booklet, didn't take long to complete:

The pages I need to glue inside are slightly bigger than the cover, so will need to trim first. I'm also wondering if to use clear plastic book cover on the outside to make it last a big longer?

Coxy11- stockings are coming along great and I love your sampler, very pretty.

Emily926- your frame is just perfect for Dolly Mama and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your sampler.

b_e_g- hopefully won't be long until I finish Golden Wedding sampler. I'm not looking forward to attaching the lace or the beads as I've never done that sort of thing before. Just hope I don't make a mess of it. Instructions are very good though. She does have a few other designs for sale in her ebay shop that aren't wedding anniversaries.

shirlls- hi and welcome to the cafe. I am pretty new to cross stitching myself but everyone on this thread has been very kind and helpful. I am not very good at posting but always read the thread and love seeing pictures if everyone's work as it is so inspiring.

JCS1- nice gift with Cross stitcher. Plastic cover sounds like a good idea. When all the pages of your notebook have been used, you could remove them and reuse the cover to make a new one, so it's a good idea to try and protect it.

I haven't done much stitching at all since I last posted before Xmas. I started the small cat design from the free diary with WOXS, brought Sleeping Beauty back out, put it on snap frame and had another go and found it much better working on the frame (silly question alert! - what do you do with the excess aida at the edges, so it doesn't get in your way?) and started the Golden Wedding sampler which is coming on well and motivating me to stitch more. Just need to find some extra hours in the day lol. Will try and take some pics at weekend, although not enough of SB done to make it worth showing yet.

shirlls - welcome to the Cafe :hello:

JCS1 - book cover looks great. Plastic is a great idea.

Ayeshalush - so pleased to hear that you are having more success with SB (it will be worth it). Thanks for tempting me to go and have a look at the other things that the anniversary designer has for sale - and there was me being so good by not adding to my stash :D.

Still struggling with this little lamb card that came with Card Shop and I dont know why but it is driving me up the wall but it is not going to get the better of me. :D

Update on knitted cushion - its finished :j (with the help of DH I must add). When I casted off I have done it too tight and it pulled the squares in and was all for just throwing them out but DH got me to stick with it and we got there in the end. It is far from perfect but I did it. Will try to remember to take pic when we have daylight. It is so dark this morning and wet :(

    Take care everyone
