morning all
thank you for the kind comments about tiger and flower heart.
love everyones work the photos are always lovely to come in to see.
Chicky any news on little bear?
got a kit out that my mum bought me a couple of christmases ago, im annoyed on her behalf that she paid good money for such a piece of tat!
never every buy anything from a company called which craft.
the adia feels shiny and was not cut square ive had to pull threads off all four sides to square it off. The bundle of threads dont even match the chart colours. its just a big bundle knotted together of an assorted range of colours and amounts that dont look like they have any bearing to the chart!
chart shows 4 shades of green, 3 shades of pink and 1 yellow.
bundle contains, 4 shades of green, red, pink, 2 shades of blue yellow and white. but looking at the chart theres is too much of some and not enough of others. showed DH the threads and even he said they feel dry and scratchy.
The chart is jut a pixilated picture it isnt gridded into 10 or centred or anything remotely useful. There isnt a photo of the actual finished design anywhere on the packaging it shows the pixel picture on the front.
trying to be helpful DH suggested perhaps it was for a beginner, NO!!!! if you gave a beginner something like this they would get so angry with it they would hate stitching forever and never try again.
im temped to try doing the 'chart' using my own aida and threads jst so i can show mum ive done something with it.
but how do you stop companies producing tat like this and getting away with it, do you think i should send it to one of the magazines so they can perhaps warn people not to touch them with a bargepole or should i just send it back to the makers and point out the mistakes in it. They will probably just bin it and ignore me. sorry to rant but it makes me angry that people can be ripped off like this.
And breathe, going to get the sewing machine out today and catch up on some mending and sewing jobs then ill decide what im going to stitch next.SPC~12 ot 124

I would take pics of the problems and then send it back to the makers listing the faults.
If you don't get a reply, then contact a magazine,, although I haven't ever seen a negative story about a company in one, but failing that there is always the power of social media if you don't hear anything from the company (I would send them a follow up letter first stating that since you haven't heard from them you have no alternative but to warn other stitchers to be wary)

not really if im honest, its a couple of what look like roses with a few leaves round them. there are far nicer things in the stash pile. I just sort of feel like i should do something with it as mum got it me.
i think ill pick something else out for now.
thanks

Can anyone suggest some nice free Mothers Day patterns please? My usual go-to (Pinterest) isn't as useful as usual.
Thanks14 projects in 2014: 3/140 -
Hi ladies.
Louise. Hope you are still continuing to feel better and your appt comes through soon.
Mrs TM. Cute owls!
FOS. I love your latest framed design, it's lovely.
Ericsmum. Nice poppy update, coming along great.
Nmm. BD is looking great pictured off the frame.
Ailsb. Hope your cold is getting better and look forward to Henry update. The Gnome design sounds fun!
Mrsmp. Lovely little heart design, look forward to seeing it incorporated in a cushion.
Finished Tigercub is lovely.
The kit you are talking about, pixelated roses, sounds like the poundshop ones I buy now and then just for the fabric and threads. The fabric is a bit hit and miss, I have a good look at them and pick the best of the bunch but if you are using it for a design that completely covers the fabric it does the job.
Googled for an image, is it this one? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Which-Embroidery-Stitch-Complete-Flowers/dp/B00F0PDD7C
JCS. Blackwork Angel is stunning, love it!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
thats the one, i dont feel so bad about it now, if thats what it cost.
its not worth a stamp to complain about a £1 item really is it:rotfl:SPC~12 ot 124

Mrs ceejay - I love the dinosaurs, so much better then my UFO one. (will post an update pic when i find one)
Kez - Love the dictionary of tea, makes me want to start one ....... but I mustn't!!
Mrs_T_M - Great memory piece, hope you get some good news soon, hope SANDS can help rest your mind and stop the nightmares.
I started a Charlies Ark sampler before I miscarried, at 6 weeks, and (over 3 years, and a healthy little toddler later) can't bring myself to finish it off. Can't bring myself to throw it away either tho.
Erics mum - Your Jack Russell stitch is lovely. Poppies are blooming quickly.
Hope you are getting somewhere with the LA/ carers
Tricksie - Wow that cafe looks beautiful but detailed,
Emily - I hate backstitch so tatty teddy would be instantly ruled out for me.
Kitten card is soo cute and playful
Maria - LOVE the morning people stitch, it's now in my to-do list.
Ailsb- Your henry sampler is fab, such brilliant colours.
The gnome kits sounds nice and comical, hope the cold goes soon.
Louise - I love the dark stitching against the red fabric.
Coxy - Don't listen to one little brat, I'm sure the other boys enjoyed themselves.
FOS - That dress stitch is lovely, tho rather scarey as now (thanks to Ailsb) all I can see is a headless woman!
Nmm - Not much left to go on BD.
Poor Tikaani is there nothing the vets can give her to try and stop the sexiures completly?
Mrs MP that kit sounds appaling, just had a quick nosey on ebay and it looks like cheap poundshop tat. Happy to host a rant on my blog if you want to outlay it at the company(written before reading Shelly's post .... great minds and all that)
JCSI - Great progress with the blackwork, I do fancy doing one ..... one day.
Still no update on little bear. ITV even picked up the story for me and put it on their website (I was famous for 5 minutes!!) Noah hasn't mentioned him for 2 whole days now so whilst I am still tweeting to try and get him back I'm not holding my breath. If I found a childs toy I would do all I could to get him home, how can people just take it and not hand it in?? It's on EVERYWHERE and I mean everywhere - Lostbox, lost teddy bear, nottingham post, i've had 4 or 5 Nottingham businesses tweeting it for me and tis on my own blog. I even tweeted nottingham police but I guess they are too busy with murders or something important
I'll try and pop back in the next couple of days with a 'grandma' update. I really hate this one. For some reason Ursula has mixed upper and lower case letters in words which I can't stand (e.g. gRAndma). So have had to try and amend it as I've gone along. Unfortunately this means I've also messed up some stitches somewhere and the count is all out. GRRRR. Almost finished it tho!
It was sooo lovely to hear 23rd Spiral's news over on facebook, miss her in stitchy chats.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0
