nmm - he's looking really good. Not much left to do now.
Quick question - are any of you members of any other cross stitch forums or facebook cross stitch pages? I only ask as I've been browsing a couple of facebook cross stitch sites and some of the comments/names seem familiar.
Still no cross stitch here for me but I have ordered my threads. 110 ordered - yay. Have promised myself I'll get my stitching back out tomorrow (I moved it over Christmas).
I am a member of 'I cross stitch and I'm not ashamed of it!' on Facebook and have just started following 'Heaven and earth designs'
I have no HAED's in my stash but keep looking at all the gothic ones and am sooo tempted. Think I'll do my Starry, starry night first and see if I'm brave enough to tackle one!
Here is my first finished piece for 2014 - started on 29th December, I didn't even plan to do it, I was just sorting through some charts and thought 'Oh, that looks nice' and worked on it over the last week of the holidays - it was fairly easy and I loved the gentle pastel colours.
I love it, such pretty colours. If I had a designated craft room I would cover the walls with ones like this :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44:rudolf:Cross Stitch Is For Life Not Just For Christmas :rudolf:0 -
Coxy - sampler is really beautiful. Looking forward to seeing your V&A. One of the kits I got for xmas has loads of beads and Ive only stitched things with one or two beads before so this one is going to be a challenge.
Louise (aka Speedy) - love the pic. How do you stitch so quickly. You must be really really organised too. Is this one for you? Would be great for a craft room.
nmm - love Fields of Remembrance. Great idea doing it in memory of Grandad.
Ailsb - Rock Paper Scissors is coming along really well. Is there much more to stitch. Both DH and DS love Big Bang
No stitching yet here - since NYD  Really must get my act together.
Hope you all have a good day.

Thank you - yes it will be added to my collection once I find a frame- I have quite a gallery on the walls going up the stairs now
I do try to stay fairly organised....although there is a lot of stash to keep up with :rotfl:
I have a new project to start tonight (oops) it is one that was talked about by a few people on here a while back - I will update later. No stitching this afternoon because DD (6) and I are having a mummy/daughter day so we are heading into Edinburgh soon to see the ballet (Hansel & Gretel) really looking forward to itCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Good morning everyone.
I will apologise in advance for the length of this post as I have some serious catching up to do.
Apart from this being the first full week back at work (though I was working last week, it wasn't as busy), as some of you know I started a new thread called 14 projects in 2014 in memory of Soulie. It was included in the weekly MSE email this week so we have had quite an influx of new members for me to keep track of. Nice "problem" to have as it's really great to see the variety of projects people want to complete and a lovely way to remember a crafting friend (even though we never met IRL). So if anyone else wants to join in here is the link

So back to the Cafe:
mrsceejay Love your 2 projects especially the peacock
flateric I haven't been tempted to get a xs magazine on my iPad yet as I haven't worked out how I would set it up to use - I have a chart holder attached to my craft lamp next to where I sit and stitch - the ipad wouldn't be in my line of sight so not an advantage. But things may change. Will be interested to hear how you get on.
louise great idea to write the date and maker on the back of the coasters - thank you
Of course you won't change the way you stitch but why should you
Love your stitching sampler. It reminds me that I have a UFO on a similar theme (though the colours are much brighter rather than your lovely muted pastels). It only needs the BS finishing but as that is my least favourite part I need a kick to finish it. Think your picture might be just what I need
Enjoy the ballet
pm your Elvis project is really coming along well. Anniversaries are tough to deal with
kezbabybabe Shame you don't have anyone to stitch a wedding sampler for you. Love Dictionary of Tea. At the risk of seeming obsessed with coasters I couldn't help thinking that the individual designs would make a lovely set of coasters
Maria/Ailsb I have used Leisurecraft Tewkesbury and been pleased. The bobbins they use are bigger than some so don't fit many of the plastic storage cases so this may put some people off. But their prices are excellent.
emslovesmickey love the Vintage kit and what a bargain price :money: You are making great progress on the photo stitch and it will be a wonderful gift (though I expect it will be accompanied by a few tears)
My way of working is similar to Louise (although without the speed of completion) I have lots of projects in various stages from being added to my to do list, to projects with working copy of chart, fabric and threads ready to go, to projects which have been started but not yet finished. I even have projects where I have finished the XS but they need making up or framing - some of these will be included in my 14 projects for 2014 list, I like to swap from one project to another and as this is a hobby not work I don't worry about it.
coxy sorry I didn't respond about the coasters but I think you are sorted now. I very rarely buy anything from HC. It I run out of a thread I am lucky to have 3 independent shops - 2 stock DMC and the other Anchor so I would buy from them rather than HC
Your sampler is exquisite
ailsb I have been known to suffer from slippy finger syndrome myself :rotfl:
I love some of the items on the site you found for coasters. The snow globes would make nice gifts and the door plaques would be great for names
nmm BD looks stunning
The Remembrance Day design is lovely. I love poppies both in the garden (though they don't last for long) and to stitch. I've never stitched a HAED. I've done some samplers where some of the bands were stitched 1 over 1 - not sure I would want to tackle a whole piece though the effect is wonderful
Ailsb I love Rock, Paper etc - I'm sure your DS will be delighted0 -

Maria - this is just beautiful. I love the colour of the fabric you have chosen0 -
Afternoon,
Just 4 more squares to go on the birth sampler, end is in sight!0 -
Louise - looking forward to seeing what your next project will be. Have a lovely time with dd at the ballet.
maria - love Mum's clock. :T
fos - good luck to everyone doing 14 in 2014 in memory of Soulie. I had a bit of a declutter the other day of some stitchy charts and took them to local Cancer charity shop in her memory.
JCS1 - Nearly there!! It looks gorgeous. Love the colours. :T
I have received two storage boxes this morning as a gift from HB (matches one I already have) but I think the compartments are a bit big for the bobbins I have. I'm not going to sound ungrateful - but I think I will just keep my big mouth shut.
Had quite a busy week this week and seem as though we have been on the go constantly. Well the shopping is done, we have been fed for now so I think I will get the stitching out for a couple of hours till its time to go to Mums and do her hair for her.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Hi everyone,
Louise - love the sewing sampler - can't believe you stitched that so quickly.......we'll actually I can
Ailsb - your design is coming along nicely. Does your son live with you? That must be hard to find the time when he's not around.
Maria - the clock is great. I too love the coloured Aida.
JCS1 - not long now! Still love the colours of this design.
