  • winnie - so pleased to hear that the business is going well for you.

Ailsb - great pressie :T Good job they are already on the bobbins. I've got a few hundred Anchor ones hubby got me last year to sort yet. Got the boxes, got the bobbins and DS has printed me some labels for the bobbins. All I need now is the inclination to sort them :) Might make a start once I finish this current project.

That reminds me - forgot to take a pic - runs off to switch iron on and get phone ready :o. Be back soon.

Sorry the colour of the aida looks a bit strange, first pic it looked light blue. I will confirm that in real life it is white.

Last night I started a cross stitch kit that was one of my Mums, I thought it was Henry VIII with his wives staninf around him but it's actually the one shown in my avatar, it has 3 wives on either side. It's on 16 count which is a bit small for me now, but I have managed to finish one of Henry's legs. I will try to post weekly. The idea atthe moment is to stitch a character then stop and do something else in between before stitching another character.

I did that one for my Mum a long time ago. It's a lovely design :)

Glad to hear the business is going well. As far as I know you can use your floor stand for cross stitch. Is it a stand with a clamp on the top that a frame then clamps into? If so just clamp your cross stitch frame in instead of your tapestry one.

I have to stitch my tapestry to the frame. :(
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

Sweetcarer - the threads are from Julies page. Cost just over £30 for 110 colours inc metallic silver. Really pleased with them, just need to get them sorted into the boxes. Only missing about 20 colours for a full set now. Happy girl :D:D

So glad you were pleased with Julies service and no 'bobbinating' to be done. I bought 289 skeins from ebay for £40 but they are my spares so don't need to put them on bobbins until they run out.

This is lovely, can't wait to see it done.

    I started this on Saturday.

    http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Overlook-Caf%C3%A9__DIM-65093.aspx

Bought it at a stitch show ages ago. Wanted something smallish as going to the stitch show at Sandown Park next Saturday and might want to start something new (IF I buy anything ;););)) so didn't want to be in the middle of a big one.

It's coming along nicely as there are quite a lot of half stitches in it, but some use four strands which is a bit bulky on 18ct Aida, but definitely gives it great depth.
