This is why my sewing is covered in black cat hairs......0

b_e_g - Can't wait to see a pic of Sleeping Beauty :T
JCS1 - I don't think that cat feels ANY guilt at all looking at the expression there :rotfl:
I started the Little Mermaid from WOXS last Friday and here she is.....
I used marbled blue fabric and half stitched the sea instead of using whole stitches. I don't think it has been detrimental to the overall finish. I also changed her eyes as I thought the original looked a bit alien-like
*Edit: The top of the picture looks a bit squint, it's actually fine, it was just taken at a bad angle to avoid shadowCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Hopefully we will find some time over the weekend to settle down and tackle it. Have left frame and mount board on show in dining room just to act as a gentle reminder to hubby that it still has to be done:D
Have had a quick read of some of the posts in an attempt to catch up with the happenings. Great pics as usual ladies. :T
winnie - so sorry to hear your very sad news. Thinking of you.
JCS1 - really cute kitty.
I hate having to go to bed when I've just had hair done at the hairdressers cos it will be all squashed up and messy in the morning. Will have to try and float above the pillow tonight.
Take care everyone

Arggg - just typed up long response and it lost it. Will try again, probably do what FOS does and post several shorter replies.

Lindsey - can't believe you stitched party bags, how lovely. As a Mum I would have thrilled if my son had ever received a bag like it. Hope they were appreciated.
Chicky - I popped into Hobbycraft on Wednesday and had a wonder round and left empty handed even though I had a voucher for 15 with me. Nothing caught my eye andI decided I had so much to do already I should be good.
MOS - the bookmark you completed for your daughter is lovely I'm glad she likes it. I never even think about doing kits designed for "mums" for anyone else I just throw them in my free kits box thinking theyre no use. Will have to consider using for friends.
Gildius - your wall is fab. This was one of the posts I was convinced I'd responded to! Can't believe how quickly youve finished it, it putsmy efforts to shame.
Bargainfinder - welcome. I do hope you enjoy being part of the cafe, as others have said we are a nosey lot and love hearing others news (not just cross stitch related) and seeing progress pictures.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Keza - your finished sampler is lovely.
Chicky - I hope you holiday was nice, I dont think its hacking in when the hotel and restuarant are connected, they are normally part of the same overall company anyway. I normally try it but 9 times out of 10 it doesn't work.
NMM - BD is coming along well, wow an eye bet you've nearly (possibly already ) stitched the other one by now. Again this was a post I thought I'd replied to. Never mind replying now.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind0 -
Next try - it lost my last message AGAIN.
Winnie - so sorry to hear your news, going to keep this brief as its now the third time I've typed this. Just remember that in the vast majority of cases the perskn isn't in a sound mind when they do this, if they had been they'd have asked for help.
Flateric - did you decide on your next project? Hows your Mum?
Louise - back up to normal speed I see! Your mermaid looks good, who is she for? I especially like the little turtles and agree the sea is fine as it is.
JCS1 - now I know why I don't have a chat. 50% of the time I have my Dads dog who like to sit on me whilst I'm sewing and runs off with wool when I'm knitting.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j
