My exchange card arrived today safely thanks BEG, I love it, the snowman is one of my faves and you gave me some ideas about mounting cards too. It's sitting on the mantle right now :j
I've managed a little bit on BD too, hopefully finish this page in the next couple of days.

Morning all
Just a quickie from me to let you know my exchange piece is all parcelled up and will be posted this morning as I have to go and collect some bits from the post office this morning. Then off into Glasgow (bit of shopping and the science museum) - terrible news about the helicopter crash - hope there are no fatalities but it will be a miracle if there aren't.
Catch up later.
Thank you very much for my exchange piece - arrived today :T:T:T:j:j:j:beer::beer::beer::D:D:D0 -
Good Afternoon Girls,
Had a nice relaxing day off - catching up on my Avon and doing some cross stitch and made myself a lovley wee lunch.Oh, well done on winning these two - they are both gorgeous!
I saw the band sampler last time you mentioned it and I thought then how unusual it was. I may have to get it....although I've never done anything other than cross stitch it must come with instructions?
Celtic snow is lovely too - I think the fabric that sample is stitched on makes it.
I have finally finished page 8 of the monochrome monstrosity and am onto page 9. I was going to do a bit more this weekend, but it sort of slipped by with no stitching done.
I haven't even put my Christmas tree up yet! (I have done all the present buying though:rotfl:)
The instructions she provides for all her patterns are brilliant -takes her time to explain everything and she is at an end of an email if you have any problems. She is good too that she puts up equivalents to other thread companies - so you can use dmc if you want. With celtic snow when I do get round to it (maybe 2015) I might have to bite the bullet and use hand dyed material and dinky dye threads.Pleased to see about your win. :T Can you remind me of the details of the designer / details of her facebook page as I am wondering about getting a subscription for the learning sampler or similar for a friend :j
Here is the link to her blog spot (the facebook page is closed to only actual people taking part - its not too late).

Was working out the costs - its going to take 18 months to do (there is 18 parts) -
Pattern - via designer - £12.50 approx ($20) free shipping as its a PDF
Material - 50x90 36hpi evenweave - £10 plus £2.50 shipping
Threads - 21 dmc everyday threads - 39p each - £8.19 plus £1.20 shipping
Needles - £1 for 6 (treated myself to new for this)
So total is approx £35, so over the 18 months it costs about £1.95 a month - so thats not bad at all. Each part is nicely divided and I think easily accomplished within the month. It is also nice you can choose your own threads and material but I would recommend evenweave or linen because of the specialty stitches.
Can't beleive it is 4 o'clock already and its dark. Didn't get any mail today but maybe because it is the St Andrews holiday.
Keep well
