    Good Morning Ladies,

Thank you all for your kindness, I am getting better, I just slip down the barrell at times. PS This might be a long post - in a right chatty mood.

I am such a lovely mood this morning - got a lovely wee message in facebook to say I won a competition with Northen Experessions - the company who do the learning sampler - I have won 3 downloads of their designs - so far I have can think of two off hand - need to think of another - might ask her as she is always designing and leave the third one when she brings out the next amazing one.

    So the two designs

    The twisted band sampler

    Celtic Snow

Don't know when I will be doing them but they will go on the to do list.

    Morning all

Just a quickie from me to let you know my exchange piece is all parcelled up and will be posted this morning as I have to go and collect some bits from the post office this morning. Then off into Glasgow (bit of shopping and the science museum) - terrible news about the helicopter crash - hope there are no fatalities but it will be a miracle if there aren't.

    Catch up later.

I have sent my normal post so I hope it arrives ok - just have to trust the royal mail. It is very sad about the crash in Glasgow - one of the ladies interviewed by STV news works with me - really brought it home, that someone I work with was involved. I have passed the place many a time but never been in - think it was one of Glasgows oldest pubs.

As for me. Not much stitching done at all in the last few days but yesterday I really fancied doing some. Got one length of thread stitched then my needle snapped at the eye!
Went through all my spare needles and even went through stash kits to look at their needles but I haven't got a spare one thin enough!
Usually stitch on 14 ct but I think this kit is 16 or 18 ct so all my needles are too fat (making too big holes in the fabric)

Had a quick look online last night and they are cheap enough, less than £2 for 10 so going to order both size 26 and 28.
So for now stitching has had to go away :(

I think I will need to treat myself to new needles - remember the gold ones bending with me - the whole lot did - yes, they glided through the fabric lovely but the bent - and I didn't think I was tough on them but as you say they are cheap enough might buy more because they were comfy.
My exchange piece has arrived. It is absolutely gorgeous - thank you thank you thank you - you know who you are ;)

Will post a pic on Monday.

Have we to post pictures of our own creations or the ones that come in the post?

Came across this earlier in the week - photofunia and found this brilliant effect - the picture is a picture I use in facebook for my profile from time to time - I collect pictures on the web of red heads (being one myself). One day I might chart it and stitch it for real.

Ok better do an update photo - will only do summer sampler as I only did a little of learning sampler last week since last update.

Ok off to do some more on my learning sampler and just think off work tomorrow as its St Andrews day holiday and work just need a skeleton staff and I am not included - a day of stitching me thinks.

Keep well everyone and thank you for your support you have given me - was thanksgiving on Thursday and me and hubby do thanksgiving as he is American living here. We celebrate by having a meal and giving thanks to all the good around us.

    Kind wishes

Hi sweetcarer, I think we post a pic of the item we receive but we take a pic of the one we are sending just in case the recipient is unable to take one. If this isn't the case, please jump in and correct me :)

    Loving the summer sampler.:T

    Hi Girls,

Naughty me - two posts in one day.

I have been stitching away with my learning sampler and completed my first diamond eyelet over 10 threads and thought I would share it with you all.

Sorry for the quality of photo - hubby bless is having a wee nap and I didn't want to disturb him with the flash.

Oh Happy St Andrews holiday tomorrow to those who have it. (St Andrews was yesterday).

    Kind wishes,

    sweetcarer ;)

PS The diamond eyelet is the wee one in the middle.

Sweetcarer, that diamond eyelet is so cool, I honestly never knew about all these different stitches, I think I may have to learn some of them too :)

  • Forgot to say I was having a bit of a nosey in the FlickR groups pics the other day and trying to remind myself of how to post pics so that I know what I to do when posting the exchange piece. :D There are some amazing pics on there. I don't know if Mrs Milkybar Kid comes into the Cafe but she has done some fantastic work. Well done everyone. :T

That's it for now time to get ready.
