Brilliant news ailsb
Will be thinking of soulie and her family my heart goes out to them all xxx13 in 2013 challenge 9/130 -
Hi ladies.
Louise. Blimey! What a time of it you have had, let's hope your run of bad luck has finished!
FOS. Look forward to seeing your finished pieces once made up. Nice birthday card, I like the change you made to the straw.
Coxy. Thanks again for the chart, appreciate it
Flower Shop looks brilliant, I love it! How annoying though that you had do the framers job for him, I would have been livid! You have done a nice job between you though, want to go into business for the Cafe?
Ailsb. Good news about no further treatment being needed, will your problem go away itself or something you have to manage with diet?
Will be thinking of Soulie and her family today x:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hello Girls
Today is Soulies funeral and I have completed the spring sampler.
I think for the rest of my eternity - the seasons samplers will always remind me of Soulie. Been thinking of her all day - wish I could of got down but its too far for me. Sorry Soulie - RIP girl x
Spring Sampler
Hope everyone else is keeping well - off to light a candle in rememberance, now that I am home from work. Need to check in at the McMillan website and see if they accept donations online.

I just love the learning sampler,it's going to be a stunner, never seen anything like it.the borders are exquisite.
I love doing samplers,is it a kit.
Its not a kit Mrs Ceejay - you choose your material - best with an evenweave (brill fabric) or linen, also you choose the colours yourself too - I choose the recommended purples for DMC but others are using silks, or what they have. See below for more information.Would anyone like to suggest a future project for me to request?
Maybe something you could consider Elliep - the learning sampler. Or this one by the same designer - this is next on my list.
sweetcarer - the speciality stitches on your alphabet look great. I didn't notice them at first but now that I've seen them they keep drawing me back. They really lift the whole piece don't they.
The learning sampler is part of a facebook group through the designer. She releases a new part each month and her explainations are great - http://northernexpressions.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/introducing.html
She herself is doing it along with us all on facebook and is there to answer any questions we may have.sweetcarer - sorry to hear you've been feeling down. The Spring sampler looks great - are you really going to finish the other two by Christmas as in THIS Christmas  Love the learning sampler too - who knew there were so many different stitches (not me obviously......)
Yes Coxy I am determined to finish all four of my season sampler by end of year if not Christmas. The learning sampler won't be finished until February 2015 at earliest.
Thank you all for your lovely comments regarding my work - it means alot.
Kind wishes to all - off to start summer sampler
Nice one to do bright colours with all the wind and rain out there and it going to freeze tonight

Arrgh - it lost my last post.
Coxy - your Flower shop is lovely such a shame that your framer didn't come up to scratch.
Sweetcarer - Your sampler is lovely and I'm glad that you have something nice to remember Soulie by. Your planned sampler is great and so unusual being striped on the diagional.
AS promised here's the photo of the Santa for Charlie's stocking. I have completed the backstitch now just need to make it into a stocking. Can't find the link to add as a photo only the web address - sorry.

Also I have finished my piece in memory of Soulie. I started it at the time her funeral started and finished it later this afternoon. Once it's decided what we are doing with them I will finish it as either a card or a small framed piece.

50th Birthday card by stitchyfeather, on Flickr
It was an Ursula Michaels design in Cross Stitch Card Shop. I changed the "straw" to read 50 in words and numbers and stitched it on some hand dyed linen from my stash
Bet your friend loved her card. I think the Lets Do Wine I did for friend last month was an Ursula Michaels design. I have never used the hand dyed fabric - must give it a go sometime.I agree, lovely tributes for a special person x
Shelly has bagged the water garden chart - all others still available.
I collected French flower shop today from the framers. Disaster - fluff inside the frame and he had made no attempt to square the design so the mount and frame were plumb but the design was wonky beyond belief. He insisted that it was the best he could do and suggested a smaller aperture would help? I ended up bring it home and DH and I have taken it apart and done it ourselves. It is hanging in the hall so apologies for the glare from the light fitting.

Looks fab Coxy. :THi all some really lovely makes. Will hopefully catch up and post properly tomorrow.
Really just popping in to share some good news. As some of you know I've been having a few tests at the hospital later due to bowel problems. Ive had the results of my last test and had the all clear and no further treatment.
So pleased you have received good news Ailsb. Waiting for results can be such a worrying time.SPC NO 041STARTED SW 04/14 - TARGET 05/16 - TOTAL LOSS 10ST 3.5LBS :dance:0 -

Lovely pics of Santa and your candle for Soulie.
Been on the go all day and I'm absolutely shattered now. Soulie and her family have been on my mind most of the day. Cannot help thinking what her poor family must be going through.
I cannot remember whether I said, but I have completed exchange piece (just have to photograph now) and Boofle is awaiting bs and french knots. When hubby saw him tonight he said it looked like roadkill. Hopefully the 'red splat' will look a bit more like a ponsettia once the bs and french knots have been added.
The weather is definitely changing here. At tea time we had torrential rain complete with hailstones and thunder and lightening all at the same time. The rain is still bashing off the back of the house now. Just thinking ........... here's me having a winge about the weather and then remember what the poor people of the Phillipines suffered last week.
Take care everyone

Morning all
Not been online much as I have been using free time for stitching and if I get the computer out I know I will lose a whole evening. have been reading on my phone but don't like posting on there as too much hassle.
Ailsb Good news re your recent results. Your Santa stocking looks great can't wait to see it made up. I love your candle for Soulie.
Louise poor you what a run of bad luck, hopefully a good week this week.
Sweetcarer wow you pick some amazing designs to do. The next one looks so complicated.
Coxy - flower shop looked great when we saw it on canvas but now it is framed it looks absolutely stunning. Good job you and DH were able to remedy the framers poor work.
FOS - love the effects of the hand dyed material it's really special. A lovely card for your friend.
Sorry if I have missed anyone out. I have nearly finished my exchange piece which I wanted to make priority as its to be posted next weekend and I should finish it by Saturday then do the making up on Sunday, ready to post the following weekend. I also want to get something done for Soulie so that's next which I also need to find something appropriate for.
Got the boys names made for the top band of their stockings and they have picked the pictures they want stitched on. The plan is to do one a year so that it builds up as a sort of memory piece - it works in my head but not so sure about in practice:rotfl:0 -
Afternoon all,
Sorry I have been AWOL, got called away on a family emergency only had my phone, no other interwebs access.
Just wanted to add that a candle was lit last night and prayers go out to all affected by such a tragic loss.
So, you've all been mighty busy
Even though I haven't been here I've been reading all of your updates and found it strangely therapeutic over the last couple of weeks just to be able to look at all your pretty pictures. Thank you all, very much indeed.
And here's my update. Before:
Old by CoffeeandStitches, on Flickr
And now. Page 2 complete
Getting some new colours out on page three. Still loving the project.

Hope everyone is keeping warm, am sending lots of love to all.0
