nmm - I have just bought 'The Last Leaf' from the Cat's Rule range. Did you know Heritage have an Ebay shop? In case you didn't I have added a link below. The kit I bought was £5.79 including postage.

  • nmm - Thank you for those links, I love the 'think big' dog one. I'm hoping to get a bigger project though. I don't know if you remember the Santa that I did about 3 years back. It's the biggest project I've ever done and I really enjoyed it. Since then I did a really tall and thin giraffe that someone on here pointed me too (It might even have been you). I loved your lions and am tempted to maybe do something with a lion or a tiger or similar in it. I just don't want to do one with all the scenery too, so it'll need to be a fabric-coloured background. Perhaps this one, but it's not really big enough.http://www.crossstitchers.co.uk/product.php?xProd=4005

I thought it'd be a dream to have someone buy whatever kit I want, but I can't seem to find one I want. A couple of years ago I would have had a list as long as my arm, but I look back at that list and they're not colourful enough (lickle ted), or too fiddly (cut thrus and dictionary of...), or just not big enough.

moments_of_sanity - I save up items for the sewing machine too. It's much easier to do that than keep getting the machine in and out.

sweetcarer - the speciality stitches on your alphabet look great. I didn't notice them at first but now that I've seen them they keep drawing me back. They really lift the whole piece don't they.

I've got Bluebell Wood in my stash, too. Lovely design!

I think I have Daffodil Wood chart. I don't think I will be using it so if any of our regular members can make use of it they are welcome to it. I also have a few of the Cross Stitch Calendars (Fizzy Moon) that came free with WOCS mags (they contain 4 charts I think) - if anyone can make use of these - let me know and I will give you the details.

Stay warm everyone - looks as though the weather has changed here - very wet atm.

what are we doing with the completed item when weve finished it? are they being sent somewhere or would it be better to use them for fund raising in some way. i was thinking about donating mine to a local cancer charity shop.
i just feel it will be too much for her poor parents to ber inundated with gifts from well meaning (but to them) total strangers, but i am happy to go with what everyone else feels most appropriate.

hugs and good wishes to all

Elliep, my favourites atm are the it's a dog's life and the Cat's Rule ranges by Peter Underhill especially the cat xmas ones, too cute :)

I've just finished the Peter Underhill Christmas kitty from WOXS. Will post photo when it is made up into a cushion. It was lovely to do but includes horizontal and vertical fractionals so would recommend evenweave.

Had a busy morning today. Sold a few bits on eBay yesterday so posted them off. Post office ladies hide under the counter when I walk in! Been to supermarket so fridge freezer is now full. Quick catch up on mse then a bit of pressie wrapping then stitching for the rest of the day.

Should be going back to work next week after ten weeks off but will be phased return so I will still have some free time.

  • nmm - That Lion is beautiful, and about the right size too I think. He might be my winner so far. I'm going to be going to hobbycraft soon to have a browse and see if they have any inspiration for me. Something like that lion but without the background would be perfect.

    Hi everyone,

I haven't posted in a while but have been reading along.

JCS1 - I love the framed pieces, such beautiful colours on both but I think my fave is bluebell wood.

sweetcarer - sorry to hear you've been feeling down. The Spring sampler looks great - are you really going to finish the other two by Christmas as in THIS Christmas  Love the learning sampler too - who knew there were so many different stitches (not me obviously......)

pm2326 - hope you are feeling better - DD has a huge ulcer at the moment. Definitely due to feeling run down (new school, long coach journey, loads of homework)

Mrs Ceejay - I love the peacock, such beautiful colours

m-o-s - well done on finishing your Dad's stocking, pics of the finished article please :)

I hope that's everyone, sorry if I missed anyone :o

I have been stitching cards/bookmarks for the Guides to sell. The Christmas market is on 30th. So far I've done 15 cards and 10 bookmarks. Hope to do 20 cards at least, although I'm not sure what the footfall will be.

I've been looking through my stash and have 3 complete kits that I'm never going to do (presents from well meaning rellies) plus some charts that my Mum gave me - again I'm not going to do these. I will take some pics and if anyone wants them please shout.

    Have a good day all.

    Hi again,

These are the 3 kits. They are all unopened complete with chart, fabric and thread:

    image-3.jpg

These are charts only, given to me by my Mum:

    image-4.jpg

    image-5.jpg

    image-7.jpg

The mermaid is a Dimensions kit. I'm not sure what threads they use (Anchor/DMC/other?) so if you want this one you will have to improvise :D The final chart is a freebie from DMC world, I'm sorry I don't know what colours this will be as I don't have the packaging. The others are Anchor so should be easy to get the colours you need.

If anyone wants any of these please PM me. I'm happy to send for free and if you want to contribute towards the cost, perhaps you could make a donation to a cancer charity in Soulie's memory? Hope that's okay??

Lovely picture, I'm struggling to find a design I like, will search again tonight.

We will link photos from flickr to her facebook page, so that her partner, son and parents can see everything on there.

The funeral is on Wednesday this week. The annoucement mentions family flowers only but donations to Macmillan Nurses, so donating to a cancer charity shop would be ideal.

Does anyone think a deadline needs setting for completed projects and photos? First Christmas is going to be hard, so maybe letting her family know that we are thinking of them may help in a small way?

I've also thought that we should try and contact her family (not for a while though) and see if they have any UFO's they would like completing in her memory, or even the 13 in 2013 challenge. Still thinking about this one though, not sure if good idea or not.
