In all honesty, that, and the change in direction of the magazine is what made me cancel my subscription a while back after being a dedicated subscriber for 10+ years
Think I will be doing the same soon, not stitched any cover kits for months and no designs that I want to stitch either.0 -
Evening all
Quick question, in the past when I've finished a piece I've applied interfacing to the back of it before framing as I feel it protects the stitches and also seems to make the fabric a but stiffer.
Does anyone else using interfacing?
I use it regularly, not so much for really big pieces, but having the fabric stiffer is handy to keep fabric flat while framing :TCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Had to go to Mums this morning as she was having a visitor from the company she rents her bungalow from to do the annual check. I go down just so she feels more comfortable when 'strangers' are mooching around the place. I grabbed the chance whilst waiting for him to get a bit of Soulie's card done as we are off hospital visiting shortly and will be going to my s-i-l's tonight.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

I use interfacing on small projects as it gives abit of body to it,bookmarks need it,to stop them from being too floppy.
Went Christmas shopping and came home with wocs,to read on the bus, as I haven't bought it for ages,it seems to me it's not as thick as it once was,but it has got a tatty ted on front and I do have a soft spot for him!!
It's my mums birthday this week, inspiration is needed, what do you get an 85 year old with dementia and alzimers and living in a home? She can't sew anymore and can't remember how to knit, any ideas from you good ladies out there x0 -
mrsceejay, how about audio books for your mum so she could listen to stories. or how about a book with photos of the town/city she grew up, someitmes older memories are stronger than more recent ones so that may trigger some happy memories for her and give her some new things to talk to you aboutSPC~12 ot 124

Mrs moneypenny,
The book of old photos seem a good idea,I seem to think I saw something like that on amazon under cities, thanks for the idea.x0 -
Just opened the free gift from wocs,a card with Rudolph which looks cute, only trouble is ,supposed to fit the opening of card, the card is about as straight as a dogs hind leg.very disappointing.0

Hi All,
I've been absent for a while, some people might remember me from quite a while ago. Hope you are all well?
Sorry to hear about Soulie, that was sad news indeed.0 -
Mrs ceejay the photos are a good idea. My colleague's dad suffers from Alzheimer's and doesn't remember who his son is, but when he takes old photos of people he used to know they have some good conversations about who is in the photos and memories of what they did.0
