Ayeshalush I recently did this one and added there names and date. It was a free (which everyone knows is the best price !)one I found on pintrest, its not to big so doesn't take to long, if you want a link let me know.

Hi everyone

After a bit of advice (again!)

I didn't realise how big it would be, chart is 25 pages, way bigger than anything I've done before.
I was thinking about getting some black aida to stitch on instead of stitching the black background.
Would this work ok or just look odd?

love the wedding sampler suggestions, forgot how much i loved a good marriage i really should think about doing that for DH its coming up to our 30th anni.

Ruth_honey - you're probably tight about all the work and not being appreciated, I am wondering whether it is a good idea to do anything at all in cross stitch, although she does appreciate craft and handmade things. Had a wee look for smaller Lizzie Kate sampler but couldnt find it, will have another look later whjen I have more time.

Ailsb - I love your version of it, not as busy as the original.

b_e_g - oh no!! I love everything ion the Historical Sampler site! This is going to cost me lots of money now you've told me about this website!! There are a couple on there which may be suitable. Thanks for the suggestion.

salfordgirl - that chart is beautiful. Sorry can't help on the black aida though as I'm very new to xs and haven't tried anything like that.

Thanks, everyone for your help and suggestions. Think I need to have a think about whether anything cross stitched is a good idea for them.

Maria, that free sampler is cool and I agree with Ruth_honey, if it wont be appreciated then don't go to too much effort.

Salfordgirl, have you ever stitched on black aida? if not its a bit harder than white as you can't make out the holes, best to use a bright light above and something light coloured underneath. The angel is beautiful and would be really nice stitched however are you getting paid to stitch it as it is quite big?

I've never used black aida before no, and im not sure it will have the same effect as a stitched background?

no not getting paid, its a present, but I said yes before I seen the chart!
