    Hey everyone

I've been looking for a decent x-stitch of elvis for a few weeks as he's my mums favourite and I thought it would make a nice birthday/mothers day gift for next year.

Anyway I came across this site tonight https://www.ioffer.com which appears to be an american version of ebay. You can pay the asking price or make an offer, depending on the listing. I did a search for x-stitch and hundreds of charts came up.

I managed to buy this chart for £1.94!

    http://cdn.iofferphoto.com/img/item/144/072/53/1.jpg

** its priced at £1.87 but when you click to pay by mastercard/credit card it actually takes you to paypal and they work out conversion price.**

I thought for the price it's worth a try, just waiting for the PDF to come by email so I can see the quality of the chart.

If it american - might be delayed with the time difference (just a thought). Mind you I would be impatient too.

No stitching yesterday for me. :( We have a couple of friends who are sisters (88 and nearly 90) and one of them was rushed into hospital 1.30 am yesterday with heart problems. So we were on hospital duties yesterday and by the time I got back home I just didn't feel like stitching as I was so tired. I did however manage to buy the chord for 12 Days and DH has sprayed the dowel for me - so who knows - I might be able to get a piccy today.

Still have bs to do on exchange piece but I think I might have found something to stitch for Soulie (I think :D).

Just watching the news and seeing the devastation in the Phillipines. My Aunt is Phillipino (they now live in Australia) - we were talking to her at the weekend and she has been trying to contact her brother who is still in the Phillipines. It certainly puts our problems into perspective.

    Well take care everyone.

I'm a bit confused as to what we are doing in memory of Soulie. Are we all sourcing our own design and then sending it to someone to send on?

Also, it was mentioned about doing the Race for Life, I'm happy to take part if this is decided on. Perhaps if there are a few of us in a similar area we could get together and do this together.

BEG _ I also agree about pinterest I seem to spend ages on there at the moment.

I've found my design for the exchange piece, found out the material and make a start tonight. I'm a little worried that it's too simple but I'll see when I've finished.

I finished the backstitching on the Christmas Stocking yesterday so will get a picture posted before I make it up. Will try to take the photo tonight.

Just to annoy everyone, I've wrapped my Christmas presents and apart from any little extras for my son that's me ready. I know it's not attractive to gloat but I do feel rather smug at the moment.

Anyway I'd better go, I'm at work and just popped on here at lunchtime. Will check in again this evening.

    Very organised:T

I'm not jealous though :) I have bought about 90% of my gifts, but I just can't bring myself to start wrapping until after the tree has been put up. I think it makes me feel more Christmassy to have all the kids in bed, and watch something festive on tv when I wrap, then just be able to pop it straight under the tree instead of having to store them again (except the kids ones of course)

I am halfway through name number 4 folks...doing better than I thought I would. It's framing them I'm not looking forward to.

Got some lentil soup bubbling on the cooker and a quiet evening planned - can't wait :)

It's nice to take pleasure in the simple things in life, especially when there are so many sad things going on. I've been thinking about Soulie (haven't decided on a chart yet though) and watching the aftermath of the typhoon is just heartbreaking :(

    Hi all

haven't been on much as I have been really busy and DS1 seems to think he should be on my laptop all the time playing minecraft!!! Mind you it's handy as I now have some ideas for xmas for him as before I was a bit stuck.

If someone can clarify hearts or candles for Soulie I will happily put aside my xmas stitching for making one and also details of what we are doing with them.

Have chosen my xmas exchange piece and now just need to get stitching it, so hope to do it this week. Wow I am going to be busy need to be able to stitch as fast and Louise lol.

No other stitching done today - will see what tomorrow brings.

On the pressie buying front - I've got quite a bit already done but haven't wrapped any just yet.

Hope you all have a good evening.

b_e_g I love that, it looks very cute, well done on creating the hanger

Just popped on to say the chart I was waiting on from ioffer was sent within minutes of my purchase....I forgot I have a different email address for paypal and they sent it there :o

It's a 9 page PDF not just a scanned copy and looks very professional, I'm hoping it stitches up just as good as the picture on the front cover.

Pleased to see that you got your chart. Looking forward to seeing your first update pics. Is there a date when this is needed?

BEG and Coxy, both your hanging pieces look great :)

pm2326, I really like the elvis chart and like you said I hope it turns out as good as the front picture.

RE the race for life, I would love to do this but my nearest race is in Carlisle which is about an hour away, so i'll donate to the just giving page instead.

Finally managed to get started on my exchange piece, using my lovely dmc thread collection ;) I hope the recipient loves it, the colours are so vibrant, which sounds weird for a xmas stitch :rotfl:
