I haven't done any more stitching on SB yet  for a number of reasons. I had a couple of weeks where I was just so tired and didn't feel like stitching (thankfully back to normal now), all the white is putting me off a little, I still haven't taken it off the frame as I'm not sure that that will work for me either and working on the frame is putting me off. Def going to try it off the frame this weekend.
I obviously have a real issue with the frame that SB is on just now, but can't decide if it's just that frame (as it is not a great shape/size i.e. very long rectangle) or frame's in general. My mum was asking what I would like for xmas and I was tempted to ask for the snap frame that a lot of you use, the lap one, but I'm swithering just in case I don't like using that either!! I'm so indecisive lol. Will hold off deciding until I try working on SB without a frame.
Sorry to hear that you haven't had any luck yet with SB. Would it be an idea to put her to one side until after xmas and have another go then. Maybe get up to date with any xmas stitching that youre planning. I know what you mean about buying a frame and not liking - I'm the same.sweetcarer wrote: »Hello girls,
Thank you all for your kind wishes re: my mum. I had a half day yesterday - was at doctors - so decided to go and see her afterwards.
So pleased to hear that Mum is making progress.

Hooray - Friday has arrived
I am so relieved. It was a struggle to get up this morning so I will welcome no alarm clock tomorrow morning!
It has been a strange week - so I am very much looking forward to my long weekend which in no particular order will involve shopping//catching up with friends/a bit of tidying/having family round for dinner and of course stitching!
I've been flirting between stitching my exchange project this week and also stitching the free kit that came with WOXS (the festive rudolph). Its stitching up ok and I'm just about managing to keep the back tidy but I'm amused that I start stitching with what I think are two equal lengths of thread and then all of a sudden, I've got one strand an inch longer than the other? I wish they would give us thread numbers so you could use your own stash.
Have a lovely Friday everyone and a super stitchy weekend :T0 -

You are not alone on this one - I have never been able to solve this mystery either FE.

Morning!
Sorry I haven't been posting. No interesting reason other than working boooo! I have been reading along though.
Sweetcarer - good news about your Mum
Mos - the snowman looks great what a fab free chart!
Nmm - love Boofle, and the backstitch really brings the design alive
Pm - the panda is coming along great.
Salfordgirl - I too don't think you need the water on the WTP design. Thanks for the tip about creased fabric Shelly
Mrs-moneypenny - great tip about using beads instead of French knots, genius
Emslovesmickey - great news, picture please!
Ayeshalush - stick with it, the pain will be worth it when you see the finished design all framed up
Think that's everyone
As for me I have finished my exchange card piece. Thicko question but I take it we sign them and it's not secret who its from?!?!
I have made a couple of Rennie Macintosh single letters (aka Louise) to use to make bookmarks for the guides to sell. I got the mag on fleabay. They are very quick to do and a nice classic design - I didn't just want to do Christmas themed stuff.
The house stinks like a burger van as the scouts were round last night for fireworks (DH is the local leader). I cooked 64 burgers over the course of 2 hours. Going to need all the windows open today to get rid of the smell - good job it's so WARM outside.......
Have a great day all

morning all
sorry for last night mixups from me i think it was the fact both pieces on here are just known by two initials SB and BD. i should have realised there is no problem with the frame BD is in as we keep seeing such beautiful regular updates. Sorry will try and pay more attention to whos saying what in future.
coxy the bead tip wasnt my idea it has been suggested on here a few times when the dreaded french knots are mentioned, i know someone mentioned it to me when i said how many french knot stars are in the sky around titanic (if i ever get back to that!) the most recent was the lovely little frosty snowmans eyes.
hope all are well
ive just been in the stash cupboard looking for images to put on DD1s house warming/name plaque must try and start that today.
have a lovely day all and hope the weekend has stitchy time allowed in it.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi everyone sorry I haven't posted for over a week have been reading. For my comments see the post from Coxy she has summed up everyhing I was gojng to say!
Mrs MP - I don't know if it's to your taste but I have the Bothy Threads dictionary of tea which has a house as a teapot. I've stitched it once and don't think I'll get round to doing it again. If it helps pm me.
I went to the Crafts for Christmas show at the NEC yesterday, it was a very last minute decision so sorry I didn't let you know I was going, hope I didn't miss anyone else who may have been there. The only cross stitch item I've added to my stash is a Michael Powell key and scissor keep kit the Chapel design, I've coverted for some time so I decided to treat myself to it. Apart from that I bought some beading stash and papers for card making. Only spent about 50 and the kit was my dearest spend at 15.99. Had agreat day but came back exhausted.
Will update on my stitching later. Found a stocking kit out that I started 16 years ago, had done about 50 stitches. Going to finish it for my great nephew.
Have a good day everyone, with the weather so rubbish I think we need to stay warm and dry and stitch.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Sorry to trouble everyone but does anyone know to a dmc floss list which can be used in excel to log what colours I have/need? I'd like to do a spreadsheet which I can send to family asking for floss for Christmas and don't fancy having to type all of the numbers in - I know I'm being really lazy.
Off to do a bit more tidying up now. I'll reard myself with some stitching later.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Can I come and play again? Been ages since I last posted, been reading though. Just been so busy! Dug out all of last year's Xmas cards and found my card exchange from beg from last year, still think it is beautiful and it will go up again this year. Been busy sewing stockings, done 4 this year, have shown you all 2 but will post pics of the other 2 if you are interested. I'm now onto wedding samplers for a renewal and wedding at the begining of next year. Then I think it is about time I sewed some of the ones I have paged marked for myself. Hope you are all well love to you all Maria13 in 2013 challenge 9/130
