  • Ladies, here is the link to the Snowman chart, the hands are blended greens and do give a really lovely effect.

    Hi ladies.

pm. Panda is coming along great, the extra time off work was spent wisely! :D

MOS. Love the backstitch on the stocking, really brings the detail out.
You asked about buying seed beads, I recently bought 2 pots from Hobbycraft, an all black pot and a multicoloured pot for 99p each. I wanted to buy on the highstreet as I needed to see the size of them with my own eyes and I thought the price was very good compared to buying online and having to add delivery.

C&S. The HAED is coming along nicely, you have got loads done.

Salfordgirl. Very nice finishes, they are all lovely.
I too have problems with creases in fabric and wish I could find a magic cure to get rid! The best way I have found to get rid of most (have never been able to get rid of all) of the creasing is to soak the crease lines in water and iron while wet with a fairly high heat.
I do this before stitching as I don't tend to wash or iron my finished pieces. Also I do this a couple of days before needing the fabric so that it has time to dry properly.

Nmm. Nice BD update. Boofle is so cute!
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • Shelly - thank you, I will pop out to Hobbycraft this afternoon.
  • pm2326 - glad to hear your cat is ok. Lol at him hiding only his head :D. Panda is coming on a treat.

MOS - many thanks again for the stocking chart. Really looking forward to doing it but it won't be for a while yet as need to get on with SB. Will def not be done, if even started, for this xmas lol. I'm looking forward to seeing the final pics of yours. Love the snowman, thanks for posting the link to the chart. I may manage that one for this xmas ;).

CoffeeandStitches - you're making good progress, don't know that I could cope with stitching so much black!!

sweetcarer - hope your mum is doing ok. It's really difficult when you don't live nearby.

salfordgirl - winnie the pooh is fab and looks fine without the water. I see what you mean about the writing on the tatty teddy not being so clear but it is fine and definately legibile :D. Sorry can't advise on the creases as I'm fairly new to XS and, luckily, haven't come across this problem yet. Meerkat card is adorable.

nmm - BD looking good. Any eyes for us yet?;) Boofle is lovely. It always amazes me the how a bit of backstitching makes a design really pop!

b_e_g - can't wait to see the 12 days complete, it's going to be fab!

mrs-moneypenny - such a shame about your threads. I would probably do the same as it would take all the joy out of stitching if you had to deal with constantly breaking threads! I liked the pants and shorts charts too and have been racking my brains trying to think of someone to do them for lol.

Phew, finally caught up lol! Need to keep more up to date!!

I haven't done any more stitching on SB yet  for a number of reasons. I had a couple of weeks where I was just so tired and didn't feel like stitching (thankfully back to normal now), all the white is putting me off a little, I still haven't taken it off the frame as I'm not sure that that will work for me either and working on the frame is putting me off. Def going to try it off the frame this weekend.

I obviously have a real issue with the frame that SB is on just now, but can't decide if it's just that frame (as it is not a great shape/size i.e. very long rectangle) or frame's in general. My mum was asking what I would like for xmas and I was tempted to ask for the snap frame that a lot of you use, the lap one, but I'm swithering just in case I don't like using that either!! I'm so indecisive lol. Will hold off deciding until I try working on SB without a frame.

Instead I have, this week, been doing just a little on the free reindeer that came with WOXS. Should finish it tonight. That wee project has given me my XS mojo back:D

Oh my, this has turned into War and Peace :o. Better sign off then as it's time to go home!:T

Ayeshalush, luckily it has been the first 'bad' thread ive come across in the bag full. i thought it was strange that it only had 5 strands instead of the usual 6, also the strands seemed thicker. ive used quite a few of the others and they have all been fine. maybe it was a rogue one but ill be wary and give any others i find with only 5 strands a bit of a pull before i use them.
glad youve got your mojo back but shame youve hit a block with the frame you are using for DB, hope you find one you can get on with soon as we are all itching to see his eyes
