Just visiting the Polstitches website and spotted a lovely design called 'Snow princess' by Joan Elliot. It was in Crosstitcher which I no longer get - does anyone know which issue it is?
If it's still in the shops I will buy it tomorrow, but if it's a back issue would anyone be willing to sell it please?
My plan is to stitch 12 JE ladies head and shoulders on one piece of fabric, one design for each month so I have been sorting through my charts
That sounds like a wonderful project - which of her designs have you picked out? There are so manyLooks like Issue 156 - found one that had sold on eBay.

I will have a look at the weekend to see if I have this issue and whether the design is the right onecaroline78 wrote: »Hiya,
Hubby took all my photos today and I have uploaded them all onto my selling page on Facebook (sort of hoping they don't sell though as I don't fancy having to remake everything for the charity craft sale...lol)
Anyway, there is loads of photos so if anyone wants a nosy this is the link...

My plan is to stitch 12 JE ladies head and shoulders on one piece of fabric, one design for each month so I have been sorting through my charts
The idea is based on an idea n the JE facebook page - someone is stitching six fairy head/shoulders. I don't have enough time to stitch all the ladies I want to, and since it's the dresses which take the longest, this is a way to show them together
Just at the planning stage until after Christmas (got enough to do before then!) here are the pics I have got. The idea is to have one for each month, each square will be approx. 50x50 stitches
So here are the ones I have in my collection, I appreciate any input on suggesting suitable months or bringing any other designs to my attention
Snow Angel
Renaissance Lady
Springtime Fairy
Spring Fairy
Fanciful Fairy
Fairy Mother & Child - (SEPTEMBER)
Native American Maiden
Victorian Christmas Lady (DECEMBER)
Sugar Plum Fairy
Rapunzel (JULY)
Charts I'm looing to buy:
Snow Princess (JANUARY)
Poppy Fairy (NOVEMBER)
Medieval Maiden
1920's Flapper
I also have Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel but not sure they will fit in anywhere. Mind you I could use Rapunzel for July which is DD's birth month - that's her nicknameCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. What a fabulous project. I know what you mean about the dresses taking the most time though I love the effect of the dresses
I've got some issues of Cross Stitch Collection which have JE designs in them
This is Christmas Rose Angel which might work without the wings
The Flapper Lady is on her blog page I notice you've got the Victorian Lady - there were 4 in total and I have them all I love the Edwardian Lady which is further down the same page though not sure if her huge hat will fit your dimensions :rotfl:
You can just about see the Medieval Maiden (with the correction)
I've also got Christmas Angel from Cross Stitch Collection and I think I have Sweet Pea Fairy
I think that both Rapunzel and Cinderella would work but not Sleeping Beauty (wrong angle)
Oooh I have just spotted and fallen in love with Victorian Christmas - will have to look out for the back copy of that magazine
Spotted this chart for sale Winter Victorian Lady0 -
Thanks for checking anyway AilsBCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Thanks for your thoughts
That's the Victorian Lady I have. I need to choose between that and Sugar plum fairy for DecI am swaying towards the Victorian one though.
I think I will try and get Medieval maiden and the flapper, just to have a wide variation in the styles.
I agree the Edwardian lady might be pushing it a bit :rotfl:
I will go back and finish the links to the rest of the pics. Hi all, Please forgive me barging onto your lovely thread, but I have decided I am going to take up cross stitch again. I stupidly gave all my stash (lots of it!) away to charity at the end of last year, but I miss my needle time! Can anyone please advise on the best place nowadays to buy supplies? I am literally starting from scratch, and as money is always tight, want the most for my hard earned buck!
Thanks in advance xxIt's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -

Welcome to the Cafe.
Perhaps try looking in some charity shops. Some members have found some great bargains so you aren't the only one to give away stash
If you're starting from scratch then a kit might be best There are usually bargains on eBay especially if you're not looking for anything in particular
Blacksheepwools.com has a good selection of clearance kits
Another good way to encourage your newly reignited passion is to sign up for a trial subscription to a xs magazine0 -
thanks flower, will try the charity shops monday (how stupid of me to give to them, but not think to check haha)
Off to browse the dreaded bay now - I love anything christmas themed and so might just do as you suggested and stick to kits (that way I hopefully wont build up a stash of unused again!) I might just put xstitch mag subscription onto my xmas wish list!
Thankyou again, my mind just went blank, and once ive made up my mind to do something excitement kind of takes over lolIt's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0
