You are more than welcome to my chart, I will only stitch one of these. If you would like it sending, pm me your address and I will get it in the post to you.0 -

I didn't stitch last night 1) because I was shattered and 2) the thought of struggling with the frame again out me off and if that's happening at the very start of the project, there is no hope of me finishing it. SO will give your way a try to night as I really want to get on with it. I'm also working with white at the moment which maybe wasn't the best colour to start with
. Having only worked small projects up to now, I have never marked my charts but have very quickly realised I am going to get lost with this one if I don't, so I have now photocopied the chart and marked my first few stitches.

I photocopied chart too Ali and tried to mark off where I'd got up too. I think it was about eight A4 pages but well worth the effort and then I just tackled one page at a time. I think I can remember starting off with a white/ish area and nothing much seemed to happen for a while but it won't be long before you move onto proper colours.Hope you find it easier to roll the aida out of the way. Good luck.

Did a little tonight, still with frame, and would already be lost if I wasn't marking it. 8 pages doesn't sound too bad and makes it seem more manageable thinking of it a page at time. I only copied one but will do rest tomorrow so I know how many pages I'm aiming for (I might be copying it diff to you as doesn't naturally split into A4 pages). Will def remove frame tomorrow and try your method as I found my shoulder cramping tonight due to the angle I was working at so (this) frame is def not going to work for me.

My mum was asking what I would like for Christmas and I mentioned this chart. She is now going to buy me the chart and fabric (£28:eek:) and even said she will pay for it to be framed when I finish it :T:T I've not to give it away though, it's to go on my own wall (that was my intention anyway)
Not 100% sure about spending all that on a piece of fabric though, I'm going to have a look round and see if there is a different one which will still look nice, preferably under £20.
No stitching today, too busyWatched Wentworth tonight while I did some work on the computer - I cried!

I had a productive time last night (and this morning, seeing as it is nearly 5am).
I backed and mounted 19 coasters, 5 bottle openers, 10 keyrings, and 20 fridge magnets. I cut and frayed 24 patches which were then stuck onto the felt stockings. I made up 20 packets of snowman soup, 20 teabag favours. I made up 12 little packs containing a notepad and pen, and also 20 teabag Christmas cards......
Actually that doesn't seem like much written down, but in between fraying aida, trying to get peel offs off in one go and using a glue gun it has taken me about 12 hours !!!
Going to bed now and will do the bookmarks and what cards I have ready tomorrow..Oh, and will get some wee pics up tomorrow too...xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
Morning all
DS2 was up very early this morning so I thought I would grab a quick 10 mins online before we start getting ready.
Caroline - wow all that makes me feel tired just looking at all you have done. Are they all cross stitched as well??
Louise - the chart looks beautiful. How kind of your mum to buy it for you. Knowing how fast you sew I should imagine that would keep you occupied til at least boxing day:D
Ayeshalush - I hope you will find a comfortable way of working and soon be past the white areas and onto the more exciting colours. Having seen Beg's finished product, it will be well worth the effort.
mos - sorry to hear of your thread disaster but glad they have all washed up ok.
Mrs T-M sounds like you are having fun sorting out your thread haul. Hope you manage to get them all sorted.
Ailsab - sorry can't help with the magazine. I have only ever had the UK ones. I daren't even look at the American ones as I have so many designs I would like to do I doubt I would be able to do them all in my lifetime!!
Coxy - I have to admit I haven't looked to see how many I am missing in my collection but I do like Ailsab's idea of seeing which ones I like and then asking for collections from people as presents. Alternatively you could say you want to buy the entire collection which costs xxx and would they like to give you a contibution towards it?
Nmm - ooooh total thread envy, have fun sorting them lol. Now if anyone has a material stash like that I would be positively green!!
Oh no my alarm has just gone off, better get ready for work, nursery, school. Catch up more later0 -
You lot are a terrible influence, I have just spent a couple of hours looking at charts and kits!
What is it with cats, I have two and one of them always tries to sit in my current cross stitch project! If I put it down to pop to the little girls room you can guarantee the cat will be sat on it when I come back and if I put that somewhere he can't get to he sits on the chart! He has perched himself on my little foot stool at the moment and is purring away very content :rotfl:
I got a little bit of the stocking done last night but couldn't get too much done as my step dad was here and if he saw the words 'Dad' on it I think he might never speak to me again.
I showed my step dad the Polperro kit that had been very kindly sent to me and he was amazed, he said we went there when you kids were little and reminised for ages, I think I may stitch it as a gift for him and I am sure he would love it (will have to do it twice though as Cornwall if the best place in the world and I want to have it on my wall)0 -
