MOS, can you not wash the threads? It should be safe as we wash our finished projects.

I answered my own question re the storage boxes, sew and so had the dimensions, the hemline box is 4cm high and the dmc one is 4.5cm high. The hemline one is fine if you use the included bobbins otherwise get the dmc box.

Ohh...I got an email on fb from someone I work with - she has asked if I would be able to do some stitching for her. I said yes, what would she like...and it's 6(!)of the 'name in a frame' designs that I posted in my FB album...by Christmas

Ordinarily that wouldn't be a problem, I'm just thinking of the amount of my own stitching I still have to get done as well :o

I'm thinking 6x4 may be an acceptable size?, and 7x5 for the two longer names, give me a chance of getting it done. I'm just waiting to hear back about colour schemes and designs.

    Oh, name in a frame sounds good....can I see a wee pic....xx
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)

No, that one is a bit too grown up in style, the other ones will be for girls ranging from 4-14 so will be much more girly :)

the 14 year old will be the most difficult being past the pink n girly stage. I am waiting to hear back from her mum about colours/ design suggestion.

b_e_g I think my kit must be slightly different to yours. Exactly same picture but mine is on 14ct. I've triple and quadruple checked to make sure as instructions are in Chinese and it does mention 9, 11 and 14, but no def 14.

I've attached it to a frame and just started stitching it tonight but I'm finding using a frame a nightmare. It just feels bulky and I think my arm will be sore from holding it after a while. Maybe I'm holding everything wrong ( and it doesn't help that my dog is lying beside me on the couch with her head in my lap lol). Would love to hear how everyone else sets themselves up for stitching and how they hold frame. Maybe I need to get a lap frame. Or maybe it's just getting used to working on such a large project as biggest before this was about 8x6cm, this is 50x60cm. Not much diff lol!:D

b_e_g love sb more every time I see her :D have you posted any pics of Nativity yet? Will need to look back and see.

    Ali
    xx

When I stitched SB Ali, I just rolled the aida from each side and pinned in out of the way. It was lovely firm fabric and this seemed to work. I don't have a frame (have looked at them many times) but I just have a feeling that for me it would become another white elephant.

No pictures of Nativity yet from me but it is the one that Louise did a few weeks ago. It is coming along quite nicely. Would have liked to have finished it by the weekend but I have a feeling that is not going to happen :(.

Good luck with SB. Looking forward to seeing some pics.

Wow, she is absolutely beautiful and must have taken you ages. Thank you for posting.

I cannot remember how long she took to stitch but I did have quite a long break in the middle of stitching as other stitching took priority (and she was for me) and then there was last years xmassy stuff that had to get done. But as I mentioned to Ali, mine was on 11ct which made it quite easy and a lot of the areas were quite blocky so once you settled down to it, it seemed to grow quite quickly. When I first saw the size of the fabric mind you (even though I had read the size before I bought it) I was quite daunted by it - that's the biggest one I have done so far.

    PS Loving Dad's stocking btw.
