I did show DH last night and even he said it was lovely, seed planted so going to leave it a few days and then start to complain that I have no where to put my stitchy stuff next to my chair0 -
I feel very virtuous this morning, I have cleaned the whole house, including my grubby shower screen seal (how does that get so mucky  ) and now don't feel so bad that I am planning to spend a couple of hours stitching. Hoping to get the bulk of the stocking done by the weekend and then spend some time back stitching ready to make up closer to Christmas.
Looking at the stockings I want to make for the dogs, the colours seem to be blocks rather than fiddly stitches so hopefully that won't take me too long. I need to buy some Aida for the stockings, anyone any idea where the best prices are for it? I am always a bit worried about buying this on line as I have heard so many horror stories of the weave being uneven :eek:0 -

Oops sorry what was I thinking, here they are :rotfl:
:T:T This is how I feel for you. They look great. I am determined to sort mine out now and try to increase my colours (or try for a full set).
If yoh are anything like me sometimes I just get my floss out and look at it to cheer myself up. My husband thinks I'm quite mad:DCross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Morning all,
Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Working everyday this week so will post in full later.
Just a quick question: I printed off a list of the 447 DMC colours and ticked back those I already have. There are 349 that I don't have :rotfl:
Is it better/cheaper to buy a complete set (have seen one for £179 delivered) rather than try to complete my set individually?
Coxy
I think the most important question first of all is do you mostly stitch kits or do you just buy the charts?
Kits - Just build up your collection as you need them
Charts - Order a full setYou will use the majority of them over the years at some point.
I don't buy full kits unless I have to, so having all the threads is handy.moments_of_sanity wrote: »Oh the fun I could have sorting them, who said slight OCD was a bad thing! :rotfl:

I started on kits, then with BD it was cheaper to buy the stuff myself and now I've got a massive collection of charts I want to do, so I figured this would save me money
I think my problem now will be deciding what to stitch :rotfl:

mos your stocking will be beautiful when its finished. Think I may need to attempt one for next year
Sorry to hear about your caravan:(.
firefly your sampler is lovely. I bet the recipients were chuffed to bits with it.
fos the handpainted sewing box is gorgeous! Really different.
Louise hope you managed to get some sleep last night.
FlatEric lol at the cat and mouse! I woke up during the night to go to the toilet and on way back to bed something seemed to be just not right with my dog (she's a black lab and her bed is right next to mine), so I put the light on and she had her eyes open but would not responf to me at all. Had a total panic thinking she was dead!! After a couple of hefty shoogles she woke up!! She was sleeping with her eyes open (?!!) and obviously in a deep sleep. It really gave me a fright and it took me ages for my heartrate to get back to normal so I could go back to sleep. Pets eh, can't live with em, can't live without em lol!!
Coxy I've been wondering the same about threads but have decided that as I'm quite new to cross stitching, for the time being anyway, I am just going to build my collection up as I go along. It would probably be cheaper in the long run to buy them in one go but it is a lot to lay out if I don't keep stitching (although I'm pretty sure I will)
nmm maybe I now have to rethink my answer above about threads. I am so jealous right now!!:D
Thanks for all the responses re frames. I am going to struggle on with the on that I have just now, but am thinking that I may ask Santa for an R and R craft frame. I amtempted to just go and order one but I am trying to be sensible
Happy stitching.:D

Ohh...I got an email on fb from someone I work with - she has asked if I would be able to do some stitching for her. I said yes, what would she like...and it's 6(!)of the 'name in a frame' designs that I posted in my FB album...by Christmas
Ordinarily that wouldn't be a problem, I'm just thinking of the amount of my own stitching I still have to get done as well
I'm thinking 6x4 may be an acceptable size?, and 7x5 for the two longer names, give me a chance of getting it done. I'm just waiting to hear back about colour schemes and designs.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
