This is absolutely beautiful, you have made really good progress on it. What are you planning to do with it once completed, is it a gift?0 -
Morning all! Sorry I haven't posted for a few days, things have been hectic, but I have been keeping up with all the posts. Gorgeous pictures from all.... and OHMYGOSH I have serious thread envy! The sets are so beautiful!
Thank you all for your kind words regarding the card exchange. I am going to bow out this year, but I promise next year I'll be top of the list. You lovelies really are a nice bunch
And so to the pictures, which is fitting, because it's a month since I did my first stitch on this project. It's sloooow progress, but i'm a beginner, and so far, I'm really enjoying it! I can't wait to get to the part where I see something emerge other than dark shading, but who knows when that will be!
So.... here's the first 6000 or so stitches, only 118,000 to go!! (excuse the gaps, I'm waiting for the second half of the threads to show up!!)
*Holds breath waiting for the pictures to work*

Won't have time to make much progress this weekend, I'm being forced into social activities (much rather be on the sofe, needle in hand!).
Have a lovely day all!
P.s. Louise, thank you!0 -
Thanks guys, i'm pleased I didn't wait as I know i'd kick myself later on. One thing I realised I will have all the threads for Dreams of Atlantis  and all the other projects I've wanted to do but never had the right colours
Just need to finish BD now :rotfl:
Glad to be of help. You won't regret it, it is so nice to have every single colour in reach. I have mine in four of the plastic organisers and sometime just open them up and stare in wonder
When I sort my threads for the project I have one of the small organised boxes which is usually big enough for just the threads I need.

I have a HAED to stitch early next year so might need to pick your brains on how to do it0 -

Finally finished my small sampler. It was a free chart with WOCS.

Hope that's worked.
Now I'm going to start something a bit bigger. Have a choice of 3 but haven't decided which one yet.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Regarding stash prices...we are seriously ripped off in Britain.
I try not to pay more than 40p each for thread, unless I am DESPERATE, then I will use Hobbycraft at 99p each, but that is rare.
My mum was in America a few years ago and found a shop where skeins were on offer at 20cents (!) each so she bought me a couple of hundred:T - I still have loads of them left (the less commonly used ones) but it was 3 years before I had to buy black or white threads :rotfl:
Never priced up fabric, but next time I *need* something from 123stitch, and have to pay the £11.99 postage, I will be getting some fabric sent over.
Love your idea of the extra month for crafting. If we had 13 months of 28 days each it would work - o for the power to implement this :rotfl:
I used to do a lot of swaps of stash with the US and fabric was one of the things that people in the US used to like to get as a swap from the UK - our prices weren't that much more - at least not for Zweigart which comes from Germany. They also loved our magazines. Everything else - charts, threads, charms, buttons, accessories was way cheaper in the US0 -
Well that's chores done (for a couple of hours anyway). Sorted fabric and threads for Nativity pic. Going to have a little practice of smyrna stitches before I make a hash even though in theory they don't look too bad.
Kettle's on - anyone for cake?

Yes please for cake, I have a house full of noisy teenage girls and boys so a nice bit of cake would be lovely!
I think I need to immerse myself in Xstitch so that I can block out the noise of them all.0
