Quite a few of want to take part in the exchange but there doesn't seem to be a clear consensus on cad or ornament or coaster

So what I propose is that I will organise a Christmas Exchange
which can be any of the above

Please send me a pm with your name and address if you want to take part. Include in the message if you have any preference for card coaster or ornament and I will sort the list according to preferences. I will be sending your details to someone else I the Cafe and you won't know who as I won't pair people up. Instead person 1 sends to person 2 who sends to person 3 who sends to person 1 ( if only 3 taking part)

Hope this is ok Can I have details by Fri 25th October please and I will sort out the list over that weekend.

Posting date will be Sat 30th or Mon 2nd Dec but no earlier. Take a photo before you mail if possible

Of course stitching can start now but please no progress pics as we want this to be a surprise :D

Let me know if this doesn't suit

Thank you and sent you a PM

    Got it. Thanks

Just a thought. If you took part last year let me know who you sent to and received from and I'll try to change it for this year

Right back to the kitchen. Sunday lunch for 8 won't cook itself :D

Louise - your A Manger A Child looks lovely, I especially like the sparkly fabric. Its remjnded me that I have a piece somewhere.

Mos - I did similar. I started stitching gone 11 and have just stopped as the holes keep moving :).

Quick question, does anyone subscribe to an online cross stitch magazine? I'm considering subscribing to Just Cross Stitch, its $19.95 for 12 months and you get 2 years of back magazines. Has anyone got experience of this magazine?

I was chatting to my lovely DH this morning about the American cross stitch site and how I love the style of their designs.......he has bought me a subscription :j. When he worked out the currency rate he said it was about £12.70 and he said that was a good price for what you were getting.

You can download the magazines and save them to your computer, that way you only need to print off the designs you want to stitch when you want to stitch them and there are some lovely designs :D

I am up for the Christmas exchange this year so will send a pm with my details.

Nativity poem - started on Tuesday, finished earlier this afternoon. The Smyrna crosses round the edge didn't take as long as I thought they would. Here it is all washed and ironed:

Tried to get a picture to capture the sparkle of the stardust fabric.

Just need to get it framed and it's going in the living room....that is unless one of my family members admires it when I put it on Facebook, cos I don't know who prefers that style to the traditional Christmas stuff. So it might be given away, who knows :)

Absolutely beautiful Louise. :T Fabric really gives a touch of sparkle. The Smyrna crosses look really effective - looked these ones up last week (they were on sweetcarer's list of stitches). I only ever think of doing plain old straightforward cross stitch. :o

  • Hippipal - great cs find. ;) I have never managed to find anything cross stitch related in the charity shops. :(

firefly - hope you manage to hit the deadline for the birth sampler. Looking forward to seeing a pic.

fos - off to pm you now :)

Absolutely lousy day here. Got about an hour before I go to Mums - to stitch or not to stitch - that is the question :D

I did quite a bit of stitching last night but haven't yet picked up my needle today. Time seems to get lost when I switch on my computer...... (annoying really)

I haven't made it to the shops today. The temptation to melt my credit card on gadgets I don't need is overwhelming so I have stayed away!

This afternoon I can't make up my mind - stitching and audio book or tidying spare room?

Wow, haven't posted here in a while. Just talked DH into letting me have some spare cash so that I can go up to the charity shop tomorrow and buy hopefully all of the cross stitch sets they have in at the moment. I figure, even if I don't like the pattern, the fabric and threads can be used, and at the price they're charging, I'm not complaining! If there are any patterns that I don't want (or I use and can pass on the actual pattern), I'll post them on here and send to anyone who would like them. It would be pattern only though. :)

This is how far I managed to get this afternoon. Will keep going after dinner and hopefully one more day will see it finished in time.

I am sorry that I won't be able to take part in the Christmas exchange this year. I just have too much on and I would hate to disappoint someone by not finishing on time:o. Can't wait to see what you all stitch this year tho':xmassmile

Hi:hello: to Mrs T_M and Caroline. Nice to know you are both still around.

    Hey everyone

Not feeling too clever this week so didn't do much stitching. Hoped to sort myself out this weekend but woke up at 2.45am this morning, managed to doze again about 5am but feel really shattered and lethargic now.

Have done some stitching but put it away for now, might try some later once I do my ironing and assuming I can shake this sleepiness off :(

    Here's last weeks pic:
