That looks great, I wish I had more people who appreciate Xstitch:mad:
I have done very little stitching the last couple of days as my DH bought me a crochet blanket made of granny squares for the princly sum of £5 as it needed the squares stitching back together in places. I can't crochet and the blanket is huge but after looking on youtube at ways of repairing it I have finally made a start but it is taking ages! DD says it is so hideous she would like to burn the blanket, the yuth of today! :rotfl:
I did treat myself to the Donna Kooler cross stitch Christmas book, I paid a whole 99p for it! Love all the designs but that has just added more items to my already huge 'would like to stitch' list
Right, off to hang out the washing and then back to my blanket! Have a great day stitching and loving all the updates.0 -
Keeping on top of the end of the thread at the moment and am at the end of September with the rest so nearly caught up on all the gossip and pictures.
Count me in for the xmas exchange. Happy to do whatever anyone wants to do, ornament, coaster or cards. Just let me know which and whom it's to go to.:j0 -
Anyway I've made myself a cup of tea and come back to bed with Spock, .
Sorry to misquote, it just sounded funnySorry for so many posts.
The lights not too good for stitching at the moment so I've been flicking through magazines thinking about tne Christmas Card exchange. That made me think about Louise's idea for coashttp://christmasorniesal.blogspot.co.uk/er cards and then I thought about doing a Christmas Tree decoration on a card.
How do people feel about doing a Christmas Tree decoration this year rather than a card? It's just athought and I'm happy to be shot down in flames. I found this blog about decorations if anyone is interested.

Afternoon ladies
Welcome to the Cafe rhaben and salfordgirl :hello:
Coxy - good luck with the project you are doing with the guides. I think £3 would be perfectly acceptable to charge for the pieces especially as the money is going towards their trip. Will you have to provide all of the materials etc as these will probably be quite costly?
fos - thanks for organising the card exchange. :T Been thinking about last years too this week. Must be that time of the year.
Ailsb - pleased to hear that you are recovering from your op but sorry to hear that you are feeling a bit down. Any other time you would have probably loved the idea of having the place to yourself and settling down with your stitching - its probably just one of the side effects of getting over things. Get your feet up, stitching out and enjoy the peace and quiet.Hadn't come across the Rock Paper Scissors thing from Big Bang but mentioned it to DH and DS and they knew exactly what it was and thought that the stitching would be brilliant. They cannot understand how I can sit 'po-faced' whilst its on :rotfl::rotfl:
Louise - peeped on pinterest now and again but just daren't sign up. Really admire all the clever things that people can do. So if you disappear from Cafe any time - we know where you are now
FE - if I were you I would stay in and stitch. It's 'orrible out there
salfordgirl - love all your pics. :T
Maisie - lovely to see you back in the Cafe. Hope new job goes well and that you can organise stuff to allow yourself some stitchy time. Another Strictly fan here - haven't managed to watch it and stitch at the same time ........yet
winnie - sorry to hear that things were a bit quite on stall yesterday. We weren't too bad here yesterday but today has a definite wintry feel.
Re the Christmas Exchange - count me in please.I will go with the majority - card/ornament/coaster but will just add that my crafting skills are a bit limited. Looking forward to hearing peoples views.
No stitching done here for a few days
Take care everyone

Louise - quick question for you. Which issue specifically of Cross Stitcher is the Rennie Macintosh Alphabet in. You said the december 2009, and I found a copy of that on Ebay but no mention of that design in the contents. So I was wondering if it not too much of a problem could you let me know the issue number please. I am scottish and just love Rennie MacIntosh and would love to do this for a few of my relatives. Many thanks.Unfortunately I don't keep all my mags (too many of them) so I just take out the charts I think will be useful and put each one into a poly pocket then ring binder. I only know it was Dec 09 because it was written on the bottom of the chart, but the issue number wasn't. I would offer to send you mine but I have another couple of names to stitch, so will need it for a while yet.

I think the blue is just fine in the half stitch, you can hardly tell it's half. I do think the black border would be better in whole stitches, to create the 'frame' for the design.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Hi Girls,
On before I hit the shops.
Was browsing on eb$y earlier. You may remember my floral alphabet - well someone is selling the parts and see this

Hi everyone
Haven't managed much stitching this week but hope to get some done tomorrow and then I'll post an update before bed.
Just wanted to say I'm up for the xmas exchange, card or ornament either one I'm not fussed.0 -
Hi Everyone...
Just to let you all know that I am still here lurking away. I read all the posts but don't write much as there is so much to comment on sometimes...lol
I would love to take part in the exchange again this year, and will go with whatever the majority want to do....xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
Rhaben - im not sure how many posts you need to make before you can post, possibly only 10. As we say to people just keep chatting and you'll be there in no time.
I'm guessing you're right. The site doesn't say how many are needed (so spammers won't know), so I guess I'll just keep popping in here until I'm not counted as a newbie0
