    Sorry for so many posts.

The lights not too good for stitching at the moment so I've been flicking through magazines thinking about tne Christmas Card exchange. That made me think about Louise's idea for coashttp://christmasorniesal.blogspot.co.uk/er cards and then I thought about doing a Christmas Tree decoration on a card.

How do people feel about doing a Christmas Tree decoration this year rather than a card? It's just athought and I'm happy to be shot down in flames. I found this blog about decorations if anyone is interested.

Sorry to hear you got upset but it is probably the after effects of your meds from your op that is making you more emotional

Your first link didn't work for me but the 2nd one did and it's fab

I used to take part in an online Christmas ornament SAL based on the Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornament magazine
    http://http://www.country-designs.co.uk/products/magazines/christmas-ornaments/default.aspx

So I would love to do an ornament exchange

But it is more work and perhaps some might be put off by the finishing? Anyway I will go along with the majority view
  • The meerkats were a nightmare! Loads of half stitches and similar colours!

Currently working on a winnie the pooh

Welcome to the Cafe. Love your photos especially the tiger
  • Oh, I love Pinterest too - naughty naughty!!

Still here, but just so busy - no x-stitch, so I sorta feel I shouldn't post - which I know is wrong. Bad me!

Just join us for a virtual coffee. Stitching is optional though an interest in xs is probably compulsory :D
I'm another fan of Pinterest but have to limit myself or can waste hours there
  • Here's some I have already finished (not sure if this is going to work!)

Love them all and welcome to the thread. Ive not been around much lately but I do read the posts every few days.

Market was slow yesterday because the weather wasn't great in fact it was dark all day. So we didn't take much but managed to cover the pitch fees.

just ordering from a DMC wholesaler but finding it hard not to just buy what I like and get loads of different ranges.......them they arrive and I want to keep them
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

An ornament exchange would be something different. Why don't we take a vote ? I personally would like to stitch a card as my craft skills are somewhat limited but if there are enough people that want to do an ornament exchange and enough pairs to match for xmas cards then we could do both :)
  • I missed out on the card exchange last year so would love to this year.

Xmas dec sounds nice too though. I want to play whichever you choose :)

I will even put my crochet hook down and pick up a straight needle!!!

I don't mind which we do, happy to be matched in either group if we go that way. Alternatively we could stick with a csrd this year and maybe think about the ornament route for next year. Have to say, other than a bead on paper Mill Hill ornament, I've never made one.

Winnie - sorry to hear yesterday wasn't so good. It was dsrk and dismal here all dsy as well. I also think id run the risk of wanting to keep stock when it arrived, I'd ndver make a profit.

How about a Christmas coaster exchange as the best of both worlds? That could be quite fun and perhaps we could do something similar in the spring months so that the coaster could be used all year round?! :D

Rhaben - im not sure how many posts you need to make before you can post, possibly only 10. As we say to people just keep chatting and you'll be there in no time.

Well hubby is at Cub camp (I haven't gone due to hospital the other day) and son has gone off on DofE walk and lm left here crying like an idiot. I hate being a woman at times. I wanted to take a photo of son dressed for walm with rucksack on but he threw a teenage strop and said no so I got upset. How pathetic am I.

Anyway I've made myself a cup of tea and come back to bed with Spock, well the cross stitch with the Spock symbol anyway. Will try to post an update picture later.

have a good stitchy Saturday everyone.

Not pathetic at all. You've just had surgery and your body is all over the place. It's perfectly normal!

I'm now three and a half weeks post-op and still not fancying chocolate. Don't know what they do to you under anaesthetic but that is not normal :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

On the cross stitch front I'm working on a poppy design which I'm really enjoying but had a lot of visitors this week interrupting my stitching time.

Popping out for a short while in a mo then the rest of the day is mine :)
