Well I've fjnished the Spock symbol, do you think the background is ok in half cross stitch?

The background in half stitches looks good. I'd complete the stitches around it though. I think as it is, the circle doesn't look quite round. So far, it is looking great. I seldom get to see my patterns stitched, so this is fun for me.:D

Nativity poem - started on Tuesday, finished earlier this afternoon. The Smyrna crosses round the edge didn't take as long as I thought they would. Here it is all washed and ironed:

Tried to get a picture to capture the sparkle of the stardust fabric.

Just need to get it framed and it's going in the living room....that is unless one of my family members admires it when I put it on Facebook, cos I don't know who prefers that style to the traditional Christmas stuff. So it might be given away, who knows :)

I'm guessing you're right. The site doesn't say how many are needed (so spammers won't know), so I guess I'll just keep popping in here until I'm not counted as a newbie :)
It's not 10 posts, I still can't post attachments and it is getting quite frustrating. Just need to keep stitching so that I have something to show when I can actually post some pictures.
On another note I found 2 thread boxes in a charity shop today, one of them full of threads at £10 for the 2. I just need to check the colours to see whether they are Anchor or DMC. Whatever they are I will be able to use them.

Louise, that is beautiful. You have put me in the mood to do some Christmas things now.

According to the new forum rules there are a minimum number of posts (used to be 10) and a minimum number of days that you have to be a registered user in order to be able to posts links. They are no longer telling how many posts & days - as rhaben says - to deter spammers.

    Lovely finishes Louise & Ailsb:j

Winnie - Sorry to hear you didn't have a great day. At least you covered your costs. Fingers crossed for the next one.

afm. I have been stitching like crazy to try and get this birth sampler finished by Tuesday when my mum goes to visit the new arrival. Will post a update tomorrow before I add the names/dates etc .

Maisie M, the mackintosh alphabet was in cross stitcher issue 220.

Thanks for all the lovely comments re BD, I really do love stitching him. I'd like to do the xmas exchange also, i'm not very crafty but willing to give the coaster/decoration a go :)

I noticed that I'm still called a newbie after 10 posts, so I'm guessing I have to be here for more days as well, before I can post pictures. Oh, well, I can work on it more and get some more pics.
  • The house is lovely and quiet now so I am very tempted to start my cross stitching, trouble is I know I won't give up until about 3am! Decisions, decisions..............

I have found a beautiful cross stitch design by Donna Kooler which has dogs on the front and I have always wanted to stitch Christmas stockings for my dogs (sad I know but they are a big part of my family) :o. I also have a friend who is dotty about her dogs too, wonder if I could get 4 stitch guy and the gardening one for my Dad?

Louise - your A Manger A Child looks lovely, I especially like the sparkly fabric. Its remjnded me that I have a piece somewhere.

Mos - I did similar. I started stitching gone 11 and have just stopped as the holes keep moving :).

Quick question, does anyone subscribe to an online cross stitch magazine? I'm considering subscribing to Just Cross Stitch, its $19.95 for 12 months and you get 2 years of back magazines. Has anyone got experience of this magazine?
