I've started saving £2 coins again so maybe when I've saved enough... Although at the moment, I'm sorely tempted by the new kindle paperwhite - anyone else thinking of buying it ?
I bought a Kindle to take on holiday with me - I got the kindle fire HD (the 7 inch one).
I like it it - don't need it, but I do seem to use it a lot now that I own it.
However, it's colour screen uses batteries quickly (2-3 days rather than 4-8 weeks).
I would say the black and white ones are better if you only want to read books, and the colour ones are better if you also want to surf the net.0 -

Just browsing the happy cross stitch web site, not buying I said, just looking and before I knew it I had bought another kit to go on the ever growing pile to do!!!!!
I had bin looking for this kit for ages,Arabian woman, first saw it done in a fab craft shop in bakewell,Derbyshire, but resisted as it was expensive, over 45 pounds, but still hankered after it.
This is a smaller version, not nearly that price, next thing it was in basket
Not looking at any more sites till 2015 at least!!!!!
The Arabian Woman is a lovely design and I really enjoy stitching Lanarte kits as they have very little back stitch and achieve their effects by colour shading. I'm sure you will love stitching it. Looking forward to seeing your progress0 -

Will leave the making of this up to a time when I can devote a full day to it and concentration is at full strength.
Will catch up with all posts later (hopefully). Got one of those ahead when you dont know whether you are coming or going

This is fabulous. Are you making it into a hanging rather than having it framed?0 -
For the first time in ages we had a free Sunday so I mDe the most of the lovely weather and stained the 2 wooden benches so they are all ready for winter and then spent the afternoon sorting through some of my stash. I had a pack of 5 pieces of linen and even weave that I bought at a show for £4. They were different sizes and shades of beiges and browns. I sorted out 5 patterns - one for each piece of fabric plus the threads for some of the patterns. Now all I need is the time to stitch them but it was a very enjoyable couple of hours:D0

review thread sounds a good idea
bossy, how about making a goal of say 20 stitches a night once the little ones are in bed, some nights youll do more but even if you only do the 20 it will soon start building up.
love everyones photo updates
Thanks I will. I was doing one thread per night but seem to have abandoned it over the summer. I'll add it to my challenge

Hope the stall is doing well0 -
Feels like i've finally made some progress on the pirate ship so i thought i'd post a WIP pic. I've now done the cross stitch for three of the nine pages. It's the most complicated piece i've done so far!

Went to my first craft exhibition yesterday and got three packs of mixed aida for £18 - thought it was a good bargain really. Didn't pick up any threads as all the patterns i'm doing at the moment are kits and i'm getting 30 threads as a subscription gift with WOXS0 -

Beautiful and unusual. Worth the wait0 -
Following on from Louise's post showing her "love you to the moon and back" picture which I love, I've been searching for a kit with Nut Brown Hare in it and thought I could add the wording.
Here's the problem............. I've found this one
http://lahaylia.wordpress.com/cross-stitch-gallery/nut-brown-hares/
I've fallen in love with it. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction where I might find it please!!
Will of course have to add it to my endless to do pile!!0
