blue-eyed-girl that is so lovely. looks so neat and pretty.
emslovesmickey that piece must be talking such a long time. I hope to be able to do a large cross stitch at some point. too much of a beginner right now. I need way more practice
firefly369 beautiful design. It looks so nice framed. I framed a piece but it wasn't quite that neat. Again, need more practice!
Hopefully will be starting another cross stitch piece soon. Another sisters birthday coming up and I think she's going to get one of my amateur pieces as well.0 -
Today is the day that I wash my advent calendar cross stitch
I am having a major wobbly over it, in that it has taken me soooooo long to do that I don't want to ruin it when I wash it. People here have suggested star drops or detergent but how much do I use and how warm should the water be? Do I soak it or rub it gently?...... Not that I am panicking, honest!
I was looking at the decorative Aida and saw some beautiful one's with stars printed on the Aida but was put off when it said don't wash in detergent as the colour will run. I would use these for Christmas designs and know there would be a lot of white stitching that would need washing. Has anyone here used it an washed it successfully?0 -

Here's the problem............. I've found this one

I've fallen in love with it. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction where I might find it please!!
Will of course have to add it to my endless to do pile!!
According to the comments on the Ladys blog page it came from a book called Classic Storybook Cross stitch by Gillian Souter. There are a couple of second handcopies on preloved and amazon. Hope this helps :-)
FOS - Thank you for your comment. It was worth the wait. I just wish I had made the butterflies a little bigger but then it never would have got finished:p
FAbB - I would love to have my projects professionally framed but after years of trying for a baby I am finally pregnant so all pennies have to go on baby stuff so I get creative with second hand frames. Took me agesto get it framed and I got a little mark on the material that will probably annoy me till the day I die....but heyho on to the next exciting project:j0 -

Just wash it in warm water first, you might not need to use anything else. If you do need to use anything, just a very small amount ie. if I use wasning powder to wash something it's barely a teaspoonful.
I have used patterned aida, I just washed as normal, never knew it might run (it didn't) OopsCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
