It won't hurt to ask if a planning application has been made to cover any potential future installation.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -

Not yet- still just a pole with nothing on top. For now...0 -

I would suggest that a large group of people get together and each submit an identicle letter to the Council planning department.
From my own experiances, Councils tend to fob-off single complainants, but when there are a large number of complaints from several individuals, then they tend to act upon them.Never Knowingly Understood.

If you get fobbed off by a council officer your next port-of-call is your councillors. Councillors don't fob you off (they want your vote!), and council officers don't fob off councillors.Je suis Charlie.0 -

Aldi really could not give a stuff is the message.
Aldi/ParkingEye have been stopped in their tracks at several sites by posters here and elsewhere who have identified contraventions of planning conditions and/or s.106 agreements. Whether Aldi gives a stuff or not, this will have saved hundreds, if not thousands, of people from receiving ParkingEye fake fines and all the intimidation that ensues. NWSteve may be on his way to sorting out Aldi at yet another site where they appear to have flouted planning conditions.
This thread also keeps folks here interested in the Aldi Facebook page, where contributions from this direction will have helped hundreds more fight off Aldi/ParkingEye with complaints to Aldi and/or PoPLA appeals.
All of which has infinitely more value than a single damn thing you've ever posted here.Je suis Charlie.0 -
I've tweaked the letter slightly, and today it is going first class post to the Head of Lancaster Council's planning service.
Let's see what we get back- I'll post up details when I get them.
Thanks to everyone here for their advice and encouragement!0 -
The only problem with the site occupied by my nearest Aldi is that it was a Sainsburys back in the 1980's, then an MFI from around 1989 until about 2 months before they went under, soits not as easy to search for the planning permissions as they are buried deep within the Council's archives.
AFAIK, the onl changes applied for were change of class (from furniture to food) & change of use to upper floor for use as a church.Never Knowingly Understood.

You hardly ever find parking-related planning conditions for shops which were already retail units before Aldi took over. New builds offer much richer pickings. However, if they're sticking up new poles for the ParkingEye scameras they do need permission for those.Je suis Charlie.0
