Aldi Facebook Page Kicking Off after Parking Eye LBAs

I visited an ALDI a few days ago ( Friday ) at Long - Eaton, its next to a huge tesco, the Tesco has a three hour limit, and surprise surprise the aldi is only 90 minutes - parking eye.
anyone know how to find the planning permissions for that store,
its under Errewash borough council as i pass it every now and again, heading towards Nottingham.
That council only has applications online going back to December 2005. For anything earlier you'll have to contact them (you will be permitted to inspect the paperwork for free, but you'll have to go to the council offices).Je suis Charlie.0 -
Why is only Aldi being targeted? Loads of the other supermarkets are using Parking Eye or Europark (think thats what its called). Ive taken a quick look at their facebook page and it seems like the 'protest' is going nowhere, is this really the best way of targeting supermarkets? Im not 100% sure but I think Aldi's facebook page is run by a PR company, whereas Tesco employ their own staff to manage their page. In my local area, Tesco, Lidl and Asda all employ parking management, I think Aldi are the tip of a very large iceberg. Should we not direct action towards those who actually have the power to change things?0

The point is that parking eye are taking hundreds or even thousands of people to court, a large number of those are Aldi customers, they also infest B&Q and the Range car parks.
Tesco has Highview in most of their car parks, I have yet to see a small claim from them, Asda has Smart parking, they are utterly useless and again no court. Sainsbury has Euro who are even worse than Smart. Morrisons also has Euro in a lot of their car parks.
In regards to Facebook we encourage people to go to these companies social media presences simply to embarrass these companies into action. These retailers endorse these parking companies to rip off their clients. At the end of the day the only people who get targeted are the legitimate shoppers. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

None of their PPCs are suing people.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Mustn't dilute the effort. Once Aldi folds, it's time to look for a new target.yellowlally wrote: »Ive taken a quick look at their facebook page and it seems like the 'protest' is going nowhere
You can't know that. Aldi will be mindful of what happened to Somerfield when they gave PE the order of the boot (it cost Somerfield £350,000) so they will take some time to take any action, including a lot of consulting with Messrs. Sue, Grabbitt and Runne. Anyway, have you not noticed the increasing number of cases coming to light where Aldi may have flouted planning permission? That people are now digging these up will have alarm bells ringing at Aldi HQ.yellowlally wrote: »is this really the best way of targeting supermarkets?....Should we not direct action towards those who actually have the power to change things?
So what do you suggest?Je suis Charlie.0 -

So what do you suggest?[/QUOTE]
Just seems a bit pointless to keep posting on a FB page run by a PR company, need to target the stores themselves maybe? How about a concerted action group to go to every store that has parking eye, banners, flyers, etc, to give out to the customers? I dont think any supermarket chain would allow that to happen for long! Plus getting local press and TV aware of the event. Reminds me of the time a friend bought a chair from a company which broke. They refused to change it, he took it in the store and sat on it and refused to move till they refunded him. Small scale I know, but the point was that the shop were embarrassed into action! Maybe something like that needs to happen. Having had a look at the FB page, it isnt really raising awareness, Aldi aren't even commenting on the posts and it looks like a few customers are getting hacked off with it, which surely is not the effect one would want to achieve?0 -

Totally impractical, not going to happen. I suspect there are more Aldi stores in the UK than there are regular posters on MSE and Pepipoo! And most of us have day jobs and families too, who already think the time we spend on here is a bit sad! Anyway, if you stood outside the front door of the store handing out leaflets they would simply tell you that you are trespassing and to bygger off, so you'd be reduced to standing at the car park entrance trying to hand leaflets to moving vehicles. And if that caused problems on the public highway you would then attract the attention of the boys in blue.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Thing is nobody is going to to as you suggest, Aldi has been embarrassed to hell with this, and a lot of people complained because of the awareness raised on there, if nobody complained on there Aldi would do nothing but let their customers face county court claims.
They should be ashamed of themselves, as for the people complaining about the continued targeting of Aldi, all I can say they will be next at some point, then they will be pleased to know that they have at least some way of making complaints and getting help!
Bottom line is that a retailer that in effect sues its customers is asking for trouble! When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

A certain big store did not wish to be named alongside RLP in its court proceedings!0 -
