I'm in East Devon between Axminster and Lyme Regis, right on the East Devon/West Dorset border. The county boundary actually goes around my house. :rotfl:

Ah, one of the posh bits, in an ANOB, and rightly so. :)

We looked at property around there occasionally, as it would have been a great area for our former business. Briefly considered the little garden centre place at the top of the climb out of Honiton on the A35, but rejected it, because .....well, it's on the A35!!! :rotfl:

Much regretted not buying a walled garden in Sidbury or Sidford, (can't remember which) but we were heavily distracted by family issues at the time, and it really wasn't a practical proposition from a business POV.

There was also a mill near Axminster .....yeah, flooding!

So we're here, where some hairy men have just stopped, taken £2.30 worth of produce from our roadside serve yourself, and left us.....96p! :(

However, the beauty of this area is that it's still quite likely we'll find £1.34 extra in the box tomorrow. ;)

As a hater of sanding and general laborious prepping have you looked into painting over your cupboard doors? There's a few great paints I use which go straight on just about any surface and some are very Eco too. Or do you want the the wood look?
Thanks ferretkeeper, we did consider that but that will probably be just as much hassle as I am a perfectionist! :rotfl:

We debated for ages about what to do with the kitchen and after many months of indecision we decided to keep the original cabinets and just tart it up and make it more to our taste. It is a bespoke solid pine kitchen so I would have felt wasteful just ripping it all out.

The workmen are here at the moment - the granite worktops are already on and they are making a start on the splashbacks. I've taken a couple of before and after photos if anybody is interested?

    Cute piglets COOLTRIKERCHICK! :)

Just been in to see her and she had trapped one, it had more or less stopped breathing, so I rubbed it, shook it etc, and it came round... took it in the caravan with me to give it a cwtch, and a vigourous rub, its back now with the rest,

You can call me Baba for short. :) We'll be going out for a carvery for dinner tonight as there is dust everywhere at the moment so I'll try and post a couple of photos when I get back. I'll be relieved when it's all finished.

I'm glad you managed to rescue the little piglet. It looks like you'll have your hands full for a while!

I love donkeys, they are such gentle animals. :)
i had a donkey :D he was called stavros :D he was companion with my welsh cob for 21 years but sadly when cob died [PTS] he mourned so much he died of a stroke? within 3 months...:( i had the cob buried in the field and stavros stood for 3 days besides the "grave".... they are incredibly sensitive . and like lir said not easy, hooves can be a nightmare without constant trimming, also they need worming regularly for lung worm [bad for horses] i also rescued a jenny and foal early 90's that were neglected [foal was near death] spent 6 months getting them fit and they went to the sidmouth sanctuary and i was informed mum died recently. she was ancient when i got her...!! such a beautiful place there :D

I'm also from London originally, but I moved west with the wagon trains in the 1950s and soon learned to speak Dorzet, Zummerzet & Deb'n in order to survive in school. ;)

And, Baba, you must be posh, because our kitchen is not only full of dust, it's missing part of it's roof, but we are still here, heating up a curry on the microwave....:rotfl:

Seriously, it's great to have someone new on the thread. We seem to have lost a few of the 'old timers' and there are a few of us, like choille, who are not having things easy just now. :(

Even if folks just sign in once a week, it provides a bit of relief from the same half dozen rambling on about the price of fish, or whatever.....:)

P.S. How much is fish? And while I think about it, how are they allowed to sell Chinese fish in supermarkets without actually saying which species it is? I was shocked to see that this week.smiley-shocked007.gif
