Davesnave, just want to be nosey lol, but for all the good reasons, as I am thinking what to plant next year for potential sales.. was wondering when you do you gate sales, is there anything that sells better than the others?? also what type of prices do you charge?Work to live= not live to work0

Gate sales ATM are, apples, cucumbers, peppers and courgettes. Apples are popular
We haven't done plums, because someone in the village is doing those for charity (they can afford it!:rotfl:) and the place for vulnerable youngsters is doing runner beans.
We'd do more, but we're too busy with stuff like this:
(DW throwing the 18' beam out the window.....)
No, I know, she isn't.We pulled and pushed then got one end into a barrow, which I pulled backwards while big builder took the weight of the end on the windowsill. Glad it's gone!

Welcome Babafette.
Rummer, CTC Yes, I do think that things will never be the same again - it's an amazing journey for democracy. Wonderful to see 16/17 year olds engaging in the debate. There's been such scare stories floating about in the media, but on the actual streets it's been electric from what I've seen when out & about.0 -
Evening all, this seems like a nice friendly thread. Is anybody welcome to join in?
Definitely! We're all at different stages, with different daydreams and long-term goals. Some have gardens with flowers, some have a balcony with tomatoes... Some have livestock and some have pets, some have neither. We're a really varied bunch.
Which reminds me, when we start the new thread does everyone think it might be an nice idea to do a quick summary of where they are with their particular daydream/plan of action?
I have assessed my bantam chicks, they are now five weeks old. Due to the differences in the Pekins combs, I believe I have two boys and a girl. The Sabelpoot also is likely a boy, whereas the large fowl chick could still be either but based on leg length and feet I'm not holding my breath for eggs... But they're all cute and don't mind being handled. The female Pekin chick is the happiest to be on my handLooks like I may have crowing things free to good homes in a couple of months *sigh*.
DH says meat chickens are next, I've told him to buy me some land!:rotfl:
And finally... off car booting this weekend to try and find the kit for homebrew  :j"...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0 -

There's a plan.....?????0 -
We have big plans for next year (don't we always :rotfl:) but I am determined to get a few things growing well to cut my ever mounting food bills  The space is clear and almost all covered so I really won't have any excuses!
Next to clear is the greenhouse which I am ashamed to admit still have numerous broken panes of glass and is currently filled with wild rocket and nettles:o:o The plan is to gut it and get everything clean and in order but we will replace the glass next spring just before we plant things out.
The master plan is to have four raised beds and two long beds packed with tasty things to eat. Then in the back we will have beds and pots filled with flowers and herbs to make the bees happyI think what our patio is lacking is oodles of flowers and pots.
Also considering what to do with the very bottom of the garden behind the greenhouse as it is a large area currently filled with nettles and am happy to have it fairly wild but producing tasty things would be good so maybe raspberries or a selection of other food producing things????? It is a sunny spot so ideal for something :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
what are my plans ? .......... _pale_

Plans!!!!!!
Yep always makes plans, but as everyone knows nothing ever goes to plan lol...
Alex... I would get rid of the chicks asap, as no one wants male chickens at the best of times, let alone going into winter, the thing is Pekins and sablepoot are not suitable for eating...
what is happening with you these days?? any news of you moving??
Spent a lovely evening just watching the 3 remaining boglins playing, and running around like loonies...Work to live= not live to work0
