• we got is a double pronged attack on us... the neighbours who back onto the lane, don't like the pigs/smell etc and the people who walk the footpath, thinking it is owned by the public/council etc..

but slowly, slowly footpath walkers AND the neighbours will realise we own the land etc and re- livestock there is s@d all they can do, as its classed as rural/agri land so they can moan and groan as much as they like.. the only concern is when the fencer eventually turns up lol.. the land is going to fence is out of site.. and might potentially be vandalised, BUT as you said in an earlier post Davesanve... cameras so we can view the 'wildlife' put up if we find the right ones that will work on wifi etc..

a bit of a pain re- drains, but I should imagine if it can be done sooner rather than later..

Alfie, you know, I think I'm not going to rush to paint that table and chairs after all, I still don't live the red, but you're right, I love the beat up. Especially while every thing else looks so raw.

    And cheaper!

It's a bit of a difficult one. Mr Rod put the drains in and I think there is a too-tight turn not far from the run-out, but I can't say anything. That's where it's blocked. ;)

I've known that since Day1, so it's tedious waiting for the 'expert' to come to the same conclusion! smiley-rolleyes008.gif

Meanwhile, Mr Rod knows that we have a faulty inspection chamber....so that has to be ruled out. It isn't really a problem and it was due for renewal next year anyway, but now we will have to do it sooner, just to please others. Won't make a scrap of difference, except to my back, 'cos I will be digging! :(

Speaking of experts, the architect has fouled-up so badly on the roof, we are struggling with altering it.

    Didn't know you were a reserve fire-lady, lir!:rotfl:

and they supposed to be the experts!!

LIR.. Looks lovely.. really does, and the more I see your stones... the more and more I want them lol... but I got to be realistic when the time cones to put down the flooring... we might even just have to live with concrete for a while

That's what we are doing, Going into our third Christmas with concrete floors. Fwiw I'd try and get an off cut of lining for around where you cook and keep bins unless you
are much, much less clumsy than I am.

lir - you may not want the red long long term but if I recall this is mainly northerly?

So in the winter light they will lighten up the space. Like choille day? And they make the space lived in.

I love the red LIR. A bit of colour as the summer slips away.

That's right, RAS, out from the south, on to it, it gets east and west light in the low months ( in summer is brighter as I look out on it from a mainly single storey elevation) so the bright does add zing. :)

I definitely prefer the way they make it feel more lived in, ATM it feels a bit ' not like ours. We cannot plant up till we've stained, we cannot stain till the weather is right at a weekend, had hoped to day, but no! Maybe tomorrow we can do some......

We have some stuff to move over then I need to see what space we are left with to make decisions To much later and it will be spring planting, though I know a lot will be anyway from seed and with annuals.

I'm not sure where we'll be by Christmas, but not as far forward as we'd like, due to keeping the Aga and the old woodburner chugging along, at least until the end of March.

Having all their pipework in the way is a pain, but then if we had a winter like 09/10, it wouldn't be fun with just a few leccy fires.

If only we didn't have to move so many walls.:undecided

This afternoon I took a corner of the garden away and planted it elsewhere to let the digger have free reign tomorrow. I hope he doesn't need to replace any pipe, or a lot more will need shifting. :(
  • I have a small dilemma, while the weather remains warm the semi-cactus dahlia are still going strong.

TBH I'm getting a bit bored with them after 3 months and really want to clear the ground for wallflowers and spring bulbs.

Seems a shame to rip them out before they've been frosted but...
