    looks wonderful Alfie.

Pink eye - conjunctivitis, so jabs & cream. Another looks as if it's started with it. I just managed to catch the two sheep - one after the other, which was pretty jammy. They are usually really shy of strangers.

This human gets it too; should have seen my left eye one day last week!

Unfortunately the standard antibiotic ointment makes it worse; obviously some sort of abreaction. But I found a saline solution with low levels of a different antibiotic that works even if it takes a couple of days.

RAS - OH has it at the moment too.

My mother used to make a solution from elder flower heads & keep it in the fridge as she had the same & it would clear it up. The heads are maybe over but you can get elder flower water from The Body Shop I believe. It's very soothing.

The saline will help 'kill' the bug as it's a living organism I think.

I think my sheep got this from next door when they were out on the apportionment as his sheep were next to them & it's very contagious - I'll just have to watch the rest of them. It's spread by flies, so I'll spot mine on this afternoon as they are due a dose.

Choille, I do feel for you, what a nightmare time you're having!

a lot of my sheep got pink eye while they were in during lambing this spring, and it just kept going round and round, at one point even the lambs had slight symptoms

I didn't get the vet out, just googled it, as you do, then went and got the ointment from the vets. It doesn't go very far but seemed to work and as I had all the sheep in the yard and stables they were easy enough to catch. I have since made a point of feeding them down there from time to time just so they aren't spooked by being called in, that's been very useful at shearing and medicating time, a lot better than chasing round a field and rugby tackling them :rotfl:

I also used a homeopathic remedy, put some on the affected sheep directly and also in all of their water troughs...I was told the sheep would take the water as they needed it to dose themselves, didn't quite believe it but sure enough they did. I think that helped prevent a lot of them getting it. Patient zero never quite cleared up 100% until they all went back out to graze again, I wondered if she would lose the sight in one eye but it totally recovered with no more interfering from me.

    They will get over it.

I've seen on various grand designs and the like, people have two caravans and spread themselves out, esp with kids and pets...is there any way you can get a bit more space perhaps to store your furniture rather than for you to live in, a shipping container perhaps? You can rent them or buy quite reasonably and sell on when you're finished.

We've been looking at something similar while we re-do our garage roof, because we're constantly moving stuff around and it's like a Chinese puzzle where ten things have to happen or move before you can get on with the next bit of work!

Might try flea bay for a Tardis :rotfl:

Alfie that looks stunning! My idea of a dream wedding :D

Choille Well done with the sheep catching, hopefully it clears up quickly.

Well we have fleas again! I am so irritated as we treat them every 4 weeks however one of our cats keeps getting infected. So we are throwing everything at it over the next few days. I just washed fluffy cat and he was so good about it :D Loads are out and once he has dried off in the sunshine we will give him a good groom and treat him, the other cat (who doesn't do bathing :rotfl:) and the rabbits with advantage.

Then we are going to hoover every scrap of the house and furniture before spraying the place from top to bottom with Indorex. Washable things the cats go near will be washed at 60 and the hoover bag will be taken to the dump. Also going to spray the inside of the car just incase.

Phew I am exhausted just thinking about it! The problem is our cats mingle with the local foxes and constantly pick them up and we have had numerous lotions and potions that have failed to get rid of them. Hopefully this will do it! Any other helpful suggestions welcome :D

Rummer our cats are on advocat now.

They mix with the farm cats and ferals and we've never had fleas ( remarkably).

It might be worth a try if this fails?

Ah I found the treatment you meant! Not tried that before, sounds like it could be worth a shot as so many treatments don't work here anymore. I will order it the next time and see how we get on.

Not sure what to use on the rabbit then??

FK - I kinda knew it was conjunctivitis but as the vet was passing here today I wanted it checked out & treated as we are nearly 70 miles away from the vets.

OH wasn't here so I had to catch them myself, but it seemed a doddle today - know the charging about the field like a headless chicken & the rugby scrum stuff too - don't I just! But seemed smooth with a handful of beet pellets....

I've been buying bargains on Gumtree & really choked the house up - stuff everywhere. It's ridiculous. I think I'm needing to get therapy to stop me! IF we could get the ridge finished on a little shed that would take up quite a bit of slack.

FK do you sell the lambs, or fill the freezer?
