I also have those slugs that seem to live in the soil so any thoughts on that one.

Nemaslug! It's not cheap, but does seem to be pretty effective... Needs damp but not sodden IYSWIM, so suspect the stuff we put down at lottie about 4 weeks ago isn't as effective as it might be (too dry in the top of the soil now). I do keep telling OH he needs to water stuff, but he isn't keen. <rolls eyes> Finally nagged him into giving everything a good water this evening - he doesn't get it that you need to do it frequently if it's hot and dry! <rolls eyes again!>

I've been stuck indoors attempting to list stuff on the bay but my eyes have gone crossed - it won't load photos, so it's been a frustrating day & lovely outside, but apart from hanging washing up & down & feeding sheep not seen much sky. Kept having to help OH shift the scaffolding & that's the day away..............

Bit of a rush on this morning.....overslept and the builder's coming!

Mare's tail will almost certainly get through woven polypropylene eventually, and any other sort of membrane isn't going to make it even pause. You can Google Kurtail, which is available from Pro Green for another 18months to people like you and me, and decide whether to go for that, depending on your gardening ethos. ;)

I use slug pellets. Never very many here though, so I don't remember when I last bought any. No problem in that sort of quantity IMO. :)

Didn't get the wheeled brush-cutter on ebay as I was too slow.....again. :o

Sorry, haven't been well. Would have loved to see you alf, but probably wasn't well enough. Might get some temp relief at hospital this week.
