it looked very 'staged' to me... and the barn very 'picturesque' if that was my barn it would be filled to the rafters with crap..lol..
can you just re-house the cockerel??
They will likely be rehoused in my tummy if OH has the time. He went on the culling course this weekend. We have already given one Ross Cobb to our neighbour and one is in the freezer. I don't like Ross Cobbs much, they were the practice chickens, given on the course. The cockerels we have are Brahmas - not muchm eat on them. I'm more hopeful for the Ixworths.0 -
Lir, thank you so much for your input on the bathroom of doom
Things have ground to a halt with that project for the time being, just can't get motivated. Had to laugh (or groan) at the F&B website saying it's best not to use grey in a North facing room... no choice, unfortunately. I do love the idea of using a vibrant colour in there though.
choille & alfie, do you read the 'Shabby Chic' thread on one of the forums on here?? I dip in occasionally to look at the photos. I thought about it when you (choille) said about your kitchen cupboards, they could probably advise on what paint/sealer type stuff to use.
Dave, what would a Devonian say if I just asked for cream on my scone?? I really hate jam, horrible sticky stuff that it is :rotfl:'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

That would be OK, because it would be going on first, which is a 'proper job' even if you don't finish it......:)
At the Devon County Show, the prices for cream teas were double for anyone insisting on jam before the cream. :rotfl:0 -
I've just been weighing my Ixworths! Biggest so far is 1.3kg at 9 weeks. Man, those chickens can eat!0

Anyone note what appear to be apples on the ground in piccie 22? Which suggests it has been on the market a while? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
yes I did Rozee, I wonder if it was a 'rent a flock' just for a photo shoot lol...
nice day here... so as soon as hubby comes home from work it will be straight back up the ranch to do some work...
I have cleaned out all the quail, moved my youngsters from the brooder in to the big pens now... think I have a fair few hens.. don't know whether to put more quail eggs in, or get some chicken eggs... or set up the other small incubator and have the 2 lots on the go lol...
The leghorns are really nervous.. so hopefully they will calm down over the coming weeks...
Wish I could do this full time...Work to live= not live to work0 -

I thought I saw guinea fowl*, or was that just wishful thinking?
Our builder man has visited. His quote is all good, so we could be under way in a couple of weeks. :j
Meanwhile, it looks as if we have found a way to get an en suite out of half
the garage, and so use the savings on a smaller house bathroom to gain an extra few feet in the living room......;)
Our architect loves us! :rotfl:I sent him an email this morning entitled "And there again.....":o:o
