Sausages usually shift really well my piggy friends tell me. And are good earners for them, so getting them tasted is a good plan.
I finally got my sitting room TOO warm yesterday I knew I had done it before , maybe the first year we were here. I had to open the doors to the rest of the house and the dining room is warm too. Even this morning everything is still warm.
Put the hosses in the garden this morning. Bad move. Now have no garden .......they are just bursting out of their skin. Its not fair to them and I've decided to hang the grass today and opened the gate. Its not worth a vet bill for them killing each other. They played for a good twenty minutes before the oldest even tried to stop for a bit of a graze.0 -
Just popping in to say 'Hi' :hello:before going out!
Dress Rehearsal.
Yesterday, Pete cut the hedge, so that was one thing off my mind.
Also, all my seeds arrived, together with a letter detailing my first State Pension payment. :j
Throat still like sandpaper. Just need to get through the week.0 -

Well I got out into the garden today to do some work :j
I used my new litter picker and cleared all the rubbish then I fixed all the things that had been blown over and finally I cleared two of the paths
Later someone knocked the door to quote for cutting the mammoth hedge and the price was doable so he is cutting it tomorrowI am so excited about the way things are going.
The planning is also coming along and I have grand ideas
Sorry I am a bit out the loop, the laptop is still out of action but I should be back on track soon!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

HAHAHAHA good one!
So glad you managed to do everything yesterday Alfie.....
Rummer, up until the middle/end of march its totally manic for us, so hoping after that I will have my time for the garden then.... and hopefully by then the weather would have changed too lol..Work to live= not live to work0 -
Couldn't believe the temperature around midnight....11c. It will be a very early spring if this continues, but of course it won't, though there's no sign of frosts on the 10 day forecast going into March.
Looked at the only gap in the road hedge yesterday, having tried to fill it with beech last year, only to see that some were missing and others had been snapped-off. I found one, complete with roots, lying on the surface. This happened some time ago, but the grass etc hid it. Now, bearing in mind that this is an active road, that part is on a blind bend and there are some brambles there, what would you think?
I think it's probably the same person who climbed the bank in that place on a foggy morning around 06.30 and deposited bags of someone else's rubbish in the field almost 2 years ago. Equally petty.
I've suddenly found a great place to plant all the blackthorn seedlings I'm finding!0 -
LIR you made me snort with laughter!
That is our giant hedge finally trimmed and looking smartthe man worked for 5 hours through pouring rain and has done a good job. Such a relief that I don't have the face it this year or feel guilty about it not being done
I have kept a note of the gardeners details and if we are struggling to get the garden cleared near sowing time then we might get him back to do more. Although I would much rather do it myself.
Do you know it finally feels as if things are falling into place here. We are getting jobs done and finishing things off that have been lurking for a long time and it feels good.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
