It was quite warm here, which was just as well, because I had to do a repair on a mineral felt roof and that stuff doesn't bend when it's cold. Copious liquid rubber + felt nails and the job was done by lunchtime.
After lunch, a nice leisurely bonfire of the stuff culled from the streamside, or some of it anyway. No, I didn't spoil anyone's Sunday afternoon! :A
DW, released at last from needlework, has been using her new ratchet loppers to sort out the medlars and some apple trees. Lots more to go!
What a difference a day like this makes.
Sore throat is back with a vengeance now, though!I have all my panto scenes recorded on the computer, so at least I only have to listen......;)
SPOONFULL OF HONEY ...REGULARLY [YEH YEH ..THE DIET, BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON] :rotfl:0 -
at terminal 5 tonite there was a LOT of giggly girls all gathered by the barrier, pens and papers in hand so i guessed "someone of interest" may be arriving.
when my couple arrived [business class] i asked them if there was anyone famous on board and the lady said
" well there was some lads with 2 older men so i asked one of the men "who are they?
he said they are WANTED,
so she said "what by the police !!" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Right, that's Chloroseptic, soluble asprin, honey, lemons, C*db*ury's milk chocolate, First Defence and whisky on the shopping list.....:)
The whisky was an afterthought.
Whatever happened to Dr Collis Browne's Chlorodyne? That used to cure anything!!! :rotfl:0 -
SORRY just skimmed through..
Luceille.. how upsetting...
Going on my Jollies, going up to work first to get some pork.. and then we are off.....

Every single one of my brooms is full of mud.
I'm going to clean them out tomorrow I guess, no point sweeping ATM anyway really!0 -
Sounds as though you're a man on a mission now Dave
Hope the combined powers of all of those return the Emperor to his roaring best
:D
I've been busy doing a tedious indoors job today - painting a large wooden ceiling between beams/joistsThis is in an attempt to brighten/lighten the room - the PO had stained it as he obviously preferred the *sauna* look, lol :rotfl:
Managed to get most of it primed and around a third with its first coat of eggshell, but only possible as we managed to clear half the furniture out and into the '80s extension yesterday. Bit annoying as that space was due to be finished by now and the furnishings etc put in their *final resting places* but let down big time by our disappearing local plumber, so instead we're having to move everything at least twice
Only been waiting four weeks for him to surface so that we can finally get first fix (heating pipes) completed in there, grrrrrr  In the likelihood he won't reappear we contacted our second choice guy (lives an hour away, but happy to travel here and is very good if much more expensive) only to hear he's just had his appendix out so not working atm as he's semi-retired anyway.......
Back to the drawing board thenMortgage-free for fourteen years!

Lovely day here yesterday - hacked at the shrubbery that was a bit jungle-ish. Really chopped loads down - must get some decent loppers as a saw & sheep foot clippers aren't really ideal!
Harsh frost last night & drizzly sleet all day - fell asleep this afternoon for a couple of hours as it was so grey.............
Lucielle - you will find somewhere that will be suitable - it's really a hard time for you {{{{{Lucielle}}}}}}}}}}
Dave - those 'Throaties' are good at numbing your throat. If it's infected gargle with TCP which is disgusting but kills infection, or warm salty water. You'll be wonderful on the night.
Alfie sounds like you are getting organised - lot of stuff for you to deal with - with all the animal stuff too.
Not much to report from the tin can - just keeping warm beside the stove & drying to dry clothes - as you do - knickers strung about the van........................0 -
