Enjoyable as the bright sunshine has been, it didn't half show the amount of dust that had gathered over pretty much everything... :o

I cleaned my windows around Christmas......the filth on them now is a awful. More like a coastal property. Wind I suppose. Not rushing to sort them out just yet. More important things to do ATM.

It was quite warm here, which was just as well, because I had to do a repair on a mineral felt roof and that stuff doesn't bend when it's cold. Copious liquid rubber + felt nails and the job was done by lunchtime. :D

After lunch, a nice leisurely bonfire of the stuff culled from the streamside, or some of it anyway. No, I didn't spoil anyone's Sunday afternoon! :A

DW, released at last from needlework, has been using her new ratchet loppers to sort out the medlars and some apple trees. Lots more to go!

What a difference a day like this makes. :)

Sore throat is back with a vengeance now, though! :( I have all my panto scenes recorded on the computer, so at least I only have to listen......;)

Gargling with soluble aspirin is very effective for sore throats, Davesnave, it was a track passed onto me by a semi-professional singer when I was in a choir with them. Chloraseptic throat spray is also very good, and equally as disgusting to taste.
Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!
  • oooooo noooo take it easy Davesnave... could be a first, instead of prompt cards for the actor, the actor will show the cards to the audience with the lines lol..

Thanks for that. I'll go out tomorrow and stock up with both! :D

Trouble is, although I'm only speaking for about 12 minutes overall, I have quite a shouty part. I'm afraid it's not possible to behave as a reactionary old twit quietly! :o

Hi all glad you all survived the weather, had a crappy weekend looking at care homes. Drove 3 hours home last night and spent most of the journey in tears, not sure how I managed not to crash the car.

Had to put the covers over the veg beds as the wind had blown them off. Was a lovely day here so managed to get 3 loads of washing dry. Bliss!

It's truly awful, isn't it Lucielle? I know when we were looking for a home for both my parents in 2012 I just felt so emotional the whole time......not that I feel any better even now tbh and am prone to getting a bit tearful even in shops when I see couples that are untouched by the dreaded Dementia and remember how my parents were only a handful of years ago :( In fact, only last week I was going through some if their stuff from when we sold their house and found one of my dad's diaries from about four years ago - he sounded so rational, I was crying like a baby and just can't believe how quickly it can strike you down {{{Hugs}}} xxx

Dave - do hope your throat recovers in time - when is your first performance? Sounds as though the remedies suggested by MrsAtobe and the choccy suggested by LIR might do the trick - will keep everything crossed for you ;)
