Charlie is depressed and very sorry for himself after going to the vets for a dental yesterday. He has been whining and wont settle. Turned up his nose at all food offered but was unable to resist a little bit of hot dog sausage - so he can't be that upset. The whining is a bit wearing though.
Poor Charlie BD - give him a virtual hug from me
I can sympathise with the whining as Raphaella (our 6 month old SWD) is getting a bit fed up with her *lampshade* (as DH calls it) that she has to wear till Saturday when her stitches will be checked/snipped/whatever vets do these days, and is having a fit of barking and running into my legs with it as if to say 'can you take this blooming thing off me now?!?' :rotfl:
I shouldn't really complain as she's actually been very good with it, even though we've had to avoid walking anywhere muddy or too wet since last Thursday which is difficult in the weather we've been having lately
Hope the stove turns up so you can get it fitted tomorrow and keep snug and toasty
All this talk of pantos makes me think we should try to get tickets for the one nearest us (Shaftesbury - Aladdin, I think) - if it's anything like Mr BD's and Davesnave's we'd be in for a treat by the sound of it
We've just had another two window companies round and should be getting their quote for our seven front windows soon. Then we need to make a decision ASAP!
We've been trying to work out whether it's going to be possible to get everything left on our project done by the end of June - our self-imposed deadline. DH thinks it'll be tight, but being way more optimistic than me thinks it is doable (even though he'll be doing most of it himself, with me labouring) - looking at the list I've made I'm not so sure........Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Yes, then I'll send it via my email. It probably won't be anything like your DH's version, but he might be interested to contrast & compare.
That's the beauty of the less traditional themes; not having been done to death, they take off in all directions, rather than following well-worn paths.
Phoebe, I think what you'll see at Shaftesbury will be a bit out of our league. Not one of us is in any way connected with am-dram, and indeed, we'd worry about anyone who was! :rotfl:0 -
Old cat has started peeing & worse under the bed. He was always so clean - never did owt inside. He seems to be losing the plot but happY!
I am chucking out slippers that are stinking to high heaven of cat wee.
It's so sad yet annoying too, but he really doesn't seem to know what he's doing........................
Sorry to hear this choille - we had a similar problem with our, sadly no longer with us, 19 yo chap. The last few months of his life we put his bed in the kitchen next to the boiler (and provided a litter tray) He stayed in his bed 99% of the time, and was happy there. When kitties get so old and frail, they sadly also sometimes lose their housetraining. A friend of mine put nappies on her cat, which apparently he tolerated well, but I didn't try it.
phoebe1989seb Charlie is up for all hugs and fuss, thank you. Seems to have worked and he has perked up a little now after going out for a walk. I daren't think how he would cope with a lampshade, he is so neurotic - sounds as if Raphaella is coping well. Not long until Saturday nowand she will be free. We are also waiting for our 'window man' to come and quote - but this is Suffolk and he is an old Suffolk boy and nothing, but nothing is done in a hurry...... How long is your 'to do by June' list?
Stove didn't arrive today, couriers have promised we will be the first drop tomorrow morning - I won't hold my breath.
Will PM you Davesnave re the panto, thank you. That fencing sounds like hard work, can you get anyone to give you a hand?
And a BIG thank you all who were so pleased that 'Lucky' the chicken returned home safely.:T:TIt is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Alfie, your house is uber posh
The view, the location.....swoon.
I've got candles lit for choille in my Cheese room, as it was too grim and dank for a fire today. I'd kept the Christmas tree back especially too.
I also put a fire coloured pelargonium in my window instead of the paperwhotes for the sun to see in the morning, to let it know we were grateful choille had sun rays again.
We're being hammered by weather again right now..

Dave - I'll fill a cat tray up before we get overwhelmed!
Alfie - you sound like a very lucky person Alfie - Good for you. No pics?
LIR - Thank you - It was too windy here to safely light a bonfire as such so tomorrow hopefully will be better.0 -

So pleased for you Alfiw after the dreadful time you have had with your current property. GL with the decluttering - I've just ended up moving my boxes of clutter in and out of 3 houses in 2013It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
